(The Tumbler arrived in Metropolis, since it's only a ten minute drive)
Bruce: "Luthorcorp. Must have the answers we're after."
Alfred: "Lucius if you wouldn't mind..giving us a moment."
Lucius: "Not at all. I have to use the men's room anyway."
(Leaves the car)
Bruce: "Alright what is it, Alfred?"
Alfred: "...what if...what if Ra..Rachel wrote...wrote a letter...s..saying she..."
(Alfred knew it was too soon, but he couldn't bear to hide it from him any longer)
Alfred: "..she chose...Harvey Dent over you...and what if...to spare you pain...I burnt...that letter.."
(Bruce stared at him for several long moments)
Bruce: "......why tell me?"
Alfred: "Because maybe it's time to stop trying to outsmart the truth..and let it have its day. I'm sorry. Better that I did bloody tell you sooner then later, though."
Bruce: "...you lied to me, Alfred."
Alfred: "...did you not hear what I just..?"
Bruce: "You had no..right to burn that letter. It was meant...for..for me...it was the last...thing she wanted to say to me...and you destroyed it."
(Bruce angrily left the car before Alfred could say another word)
