The gang flew out of the arena one by one, Astrid and Hiccup leading on their shared Deadly Nadder. Astrid had volunteered to let Hiccup ride since Toothless was currently unavailable.
"Here is your crash course of flying." Hiccup started, looking over his shoulder at the group behind him. "Hold on tight. Got it?"
"Wait, that's it!? No tips or tricks!?" Fishlegs squealed, gripping on his dragon's ears tightly.
"It wouldn't be very fun if there were too many rules." Thalos filled in, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He could tell everyone was a bit on edge. Heck, he himself was on edge. How could they not be? They were about to go and try to save the entire Berkian village from a dragon that Hiccup claimed to be ginormous on wild dragons that, if they wanted to, could eat them all alive.
"but, uh hey hiccup, what is your plan here? I assume we aren't gonna go in dragon's blazing." Thalos asked with a awkward smile on his face followed by, hiccup and Astrid looking back to him on the back of the deadly Nadder and smiling only filled Thalos with dread, as he exclaimed with a heavy sigh, "oh my thor, we are.",
if this was a snotlout plan, Thalos could understand the more reckless angle, but hiccup really?! He took deep breathes trying to relaxe, meanwhile star claw was just moving their wings up and down in a more hyper active manner, like it's their first time flying, and thus almost flying into snotlout and his Monsterous nightmare, who had to try and dodge the giant icy blue dragon, followed by staring at Thalos with irration.
"sorry, I think this is my dragon's first time flying to, or he's more land based, I don't know, he doesn't seem to be as good of a flyer as the rest of you guy's dragons." Thalos remarked, watching star claw movements compared to the other dragons, which felt a little off, when suddenly his dragon halted almost being launched, and culprits being very obvious by their loud woo's and snickering.
the twins and their hideous zippleback had been speeding past starclaw spooking it, making it halt and come to a hover, as it stared at the twins and their dragons, as they continued to fly at high speeds, being stupid and trying to race past everyone, and Thalos was left hanging on one of the horns, "oh Thor, oh Thor, oh thor, this is why I didn't want to fly." He said hanging onto one horn, only to feel his weight being supported before looking down and seeing hiccup and Astrid using their nadder to push him up to a point he could get back on normally.
"relax Thalos, your nervousness is reflecting on your dragon, you've got to relax, otherwise this entire plan could spiral out of control, trust star claw, remember what I told you before, you both need to be calm for this to work." Hiccup gave some words of assurance before flying off with the nadder, Thalos took a deep breath petting his dragon's head, "he's right we need to calm down, even if we are new to this, only together can we do this." Thalos spoke out loud, as he gripped starclaw'a horn a little tighter, having gained some inspiration from how snotlout rode his dragon
"Hey guys, just to change the subject from the doom and gloom, what are you guys gonna name your dragons, if we do get to keep em, like hiccup named his night fury toothless, and my Xeno'jiiva is named star claw." Thalos looked towards the group as he preposed his question only to find a bunch of pondering faces, with the first two voices peeping up, giving Thalos a massive headache
"a name huh, well my head belch's sparks, so sir belch it shall be."
"oh oh, and mine barfs gas, so what about barf and belch!"
"oh dear sister of mine that's a splendid name for this beast!"
"indeed brother, indeed." The twins had their Shakespearean revelation and it was just giving Thalos more of a headache, part of him had wished their dragon would've eaten them, his headache was stopped as the sturdier built victim boy on top he's gronckle flew next to him with a pondering face
"I think I'll name him meatlug, I don't know why, but meatlug feels like it just works." Fishleg shared his thoughts in a bit of shy tune, but the gronckle now named meatlug looked very excited and happy about the new name, enough to even make Thalos smile at their growing bond.
it was only then snotlout on top his fiery stead came in between the two looking like he had the best idea since the creation of the crossbow, "hooklout." Snotlout spoke this name as he moved his arms outwards in dramatic fashion, on for the the dragon to drop him, only for it to dive back down and get him, leaving the poor Viking boy shuddering, as he softly spoke back up, "what about hookfang then?" He asked like he was looking for the dragons approval, it looked up and formed the closest thing to a happy face, exciting the young Viking, making him throw his arms in the air no longer have a hold on the horns and sliding off
as Thalos watched the young Viking fall his dragon unaware he made starclaw fly next to the red and black dragon who was peacefully flying along, "um hook fang maybe you should get that." Thalos pointed towards the falling Viking boy with a bit of concern, only for the Monsterous nightmare to look down, his eyes widening before looking down again and flying after the falling boy before reappearing next to Thalos with snotlout back on the dragon's back
"well Astrid that leaves you." Hiccup spoke up very excitingly, after watching the group bond closer with their dragon, it was then Astrid and hiccup had a conversation which Thalos couldn't quite hear from how far back he was and sandwiched between fish legs and snotlout, starclaw not appericate the lack of space flew up, gaining some space, but almost hitting meatlug and hookfang with its giant wings which made snotlout yell at Thalos
"WATCH IT, YOU ALMOST HIT ME AND FISH FACE OUT OF THE AIR!" Snotlout was yelling at him, flying towards Thalos so he could speak at eye lvl, with hookfang stink eyeing star claw, who generally didn't seem to care, before flying back down to his previous level, he would do the signal with his fingers of, I am watching you.
"Stormfly, that's what I'll name her." Astrid shouted, like she was letting the group know, before hiccup turned to the group about to announce something, Thalos could only hope, it was good news.
"Alright gang, we are approaching dragon island, stay sharp and stay ready, our main goal is to stop whatever is going on." Hiccup kind of just ordered with the others following suit, but Thalos looked unsure as star claw looked like a bit tired, with drool coming out of its mouth, it definitely wasn't use to long flights yet, he was starting to wonder if star claw had ever flown before, it didn't take long for him to speak up
"Hiccup you guys go on ahead, star claw needs rest, he's too tired to keep going, I am going to land with him on a sea stack and I'll catch up with you guys on dragon island, good luck." Thalos spoke as him and starclaw landed on a sea stack close enough to the point they can see the shore of dragon island, and the first thing he said, was the giant dragon hiccup and Astrid had talked about, Thalos looked in shock at how big it was, it was maybe twice the size of star claw, beating it with physical might like star claw had with a Monsterous nightmare wasn't gonna happen here, and Thalos only looked on in horror

GOOD DAY EVERYONE
Keizer here, so a quick update I am going to try and finish this story, hiccup (the author that did the writing) has kind of gone radio Silent and we haven't talked in a while, but I've decided to try and finish the story, so there may be a quality drop, but I hope I can give a good ending so y'all don't have to deal with a tale unfinished, also I can't say I'll get the main cast characters right all the time or even how Thalos been in the last story, and is more gonna be left as my own interruption, so please be patient with me! (Also I do not mind criticism about characters and writing)
