6. When The Angels Ask Me

When I reach heaven and God's seraphs ask me who I loved, it'll be you. The sad thing is, I loved you when I didn't have you. I asked for space and you gave it to me. Since then we dared not speak a word.
The stab reached my heart when I laid awake a few days after our last words. I recalled the way I held you, the way you cuddled up close and gazed up at me. There was nothing but love and happiness in your eyes. Oh how stupid I was. Another time we walked from your house down to the beach, your hand in mine. The way you carried yourself with a careless skip and a jump, the way you talked about how your day was as enchanting as your charming personality. Though again. My heart did not beat for you.

My love, my prince of pain and anguish, I hurt you. You did not deserve it and I wish you find a good partner to share your life with. I will stay here with my chains and weights of regret. Do not sink, my prince. For I am sinking, and I don't want you here in this hurt.
