You see her? The one in the grass skirt? Yeah, that's Ilyshah. New girl to Outerbanks.
CAMERA ZOOMS. Streams of fire from the lit torches reflect off her piupiu skirt. Her hips sway rhythmically to the tempo of the reggae music BLARING through The Island Club. Her wrists flicking to spin the poi's masterfully as her cousins try to keep up. ILYSHAH TŪREI flashes her brightest grin, at the complete centre of attention as the crowd cheers and whistles.
PANS to JJ MAYBANK carrying around a tray, serving drinks to patrons. ILYSHAH catches his eye from the stage. He doesn't attempt to conceal the smirk playing on the corner of his lips as he wipes up any empty tables, all in the hopes of lingering closer to her.
JOHN B (V.O.) (CONT'D)
Well, I shouldn't really say new girl. She's been here for eight months, straight from the Land of the Long White Cloud—New Zealand. Okay I'll admit, Pope had to tell me that one. He's been kind of obsessed with her since finding out she's from there.
We thought she was a Touron at first, especially with her accent then we find out she's been living on Figure Eight with her aunt and uncle. So, that's kinda cool I guess.
CUTS to the beach, ILYSHAH emerging from the waves as the seafoam gathered at her ankles had washed away. Propped on her mango lacquer coated surfboard, sending a guarded look to the POGUES who acted as if they weren't gazing straight at her by rubbing the back of their necks.

That's pretty much all we knew about Ilyshah, because the Kooks claimed her. JJ couldn't lie, he was pissed about that. He was determined to quote on quote bag the babe since she landed on our shores and has since been unsuccessful. Even though he works for her family and passes her often, I dunno... can't say I'm not surprised.

And that's how it went. Until JJ and I were running from the cops for completely undisclosed reasons, landing smack bang in the middle of her yard.
