Atsushi: *comes into work one day, notices something's very off, and looks very shocked as a result*
Yosano: Hey kid, you look shocked. Everything ok?
Atsushi: Is Mr. Kunikida not here? I don't see him anywhere and he's usually the first one here...
Dazai: Nope. I told him to take the day off cause he really needs it.
Yosano: And he actually listened to you...?
Dazai: *caught off guard by the question* er...yes?
Ranpo: I find that hard to believe.
Dazai: Rude...no one ever believes me...
In reality, Dazai had entered Kunikida's house, turned off his alarm, left a note saying "take the day off, you need it! Love, Dazai" and then left before Kunikida ever knew what had happened. As a result, Kunikida was still sound asleep and was unaware of what had happened...for now.
