And I found a way to show pride at work without breaking my uniform and staying discreet from my parents. The dress code only says no jewelry and nothing that "distracts the guest from enjoying their experience". So that means no ring or colorful makeup. So what did I do? I drew the flag colors on my right middle finger with sharpie. I shouldn't get in trouble for it and if so oh well, what are they gonna do? Fire me while they're short staffed during lunch peak? yeah right. Plus we wear clear gloves so everyone can still see it.
