Chapter 11 bed time story with Mario

Pov Y/n

I was playing with my plushies on my bed when I heard my bedroom door open. I look over to see my uncle Mario by the door. I smiled and waved at him. He quickly looked at the hallway before quietly closing the door. He puts his ear at the door and listens for a couple of seconds and nods at me. That's the signal, I quickly put my plushies away and grabbed some blankets. My uncle grabbed some pillows and we put together a fort on the side of my bed. I added around fuzz carpet to lay on. Once it was done my uncle turned off the lights and slide into the fort we build. And we got comfortable inside the fort.

"Okay, everything is all set. Luigi is reading a book downstairs soo we can talk about any story you wish."

"Okay, um OH! Uncle Luigi mentioned you were forced into marriage by some mad woman." Told my uncle.

"Ahh yes, that's very true but which madwoman, what do you want to hear first? There is a fish lady and a queen of hearts. What is it going to be?" My uncle asked me. So I thought about it for a moment...mmmh. " I want to hear about the queen of hearts," I said to my uncle.

Mario's pov

"Okay, so it all started when my hot pepper machine went crazy." I started but Y/n interrupted me for a moment. " Wait a minute, why do you have a hot pepper machine?" She asks. "Well, I made a hot pepper machine because I was dying to eat my favorite dessert. Hot pepper pistachio ice cream ." I said but she give me a weird face and reply " I have never of that type of dessert?"

"Well I invented that dessert and it's a damn good one too," I told her. she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled while looking the other way.
"Okay, so my pepper machine had led us to a patch full of peppers. We started to pluck a couple of the peppers and I didn't expect them to be huge." I smiled sheepishly while rubbing the back of my head.
"Oh uncle Mario, don't you know you can't take something that's not yours?" Y/n said to me while shaming me with her figures.

"Oh, I know now, Y/n. I learn the hard way. As soon as we finished plucking through pepper, some shy guy royal guard came at us. They wanted us to take us as prisoners."

"So did you guys do!?" She asked.
"We throw pepper at them. And then we ran"
"😑 well then." She said and crossed her arms. I looked at her weirdly. What did she expect me to do?! So I ignore that comment for the time being and continue the story "after we ran we split up into a maze for a while. However, we ended up crashing into each other at the exit. We were caught and taken to the Queen Rotunda's castle."

"We had to wait a while for queen Rotunda in her throne room. When she finally showed up, she had a conflict with a dessert with the poor barker. She was looking for the perfect wedding dessert. when she finally got to us, she wanted our head cut off." I said while rubbing my throat. " it scared me greatly, I had to think quickly to keep us alive. I walked up to her and offered my dessert that could work out for her wedding."

*Ahem* I took a moment to drink some water before continuing the story...

"She agree to my offer and it took me about 30 minutes to finish it. Once done, I presented my Hot pepper pistachio ice cream. She took one bite and immediately started jumping around, *haha*. She couldn't hand my dessert"

"Uncle Mario, she couldn't have you killed right at that moment. What were you thinking." Y/n said with such concern and possibly some disappointment.

" I had to settle the queen down and I found a strange heart bottle on her chair I took this opportunity to give it to her. I asked her if she like it but she was talking to me funny. I didn't like it and backed away from her. Next, I knew, she give me a bone-crushing hug."

"I guess she like the dessert that much and you saved her wedding. Yay" y/n comment.

"Well the reason the queen Rotunda was acting that way was because I have accidentally given a love potion. haha"

"WHAT.!? What type of person leaves a love potion laying around for someone to take advantage of it!?" Y/n Exclaimed.

" Apparently the queen, So she wanted to marry me, however, I refused. She didn't like my answer so she put my friends in prison. I was tortured by the queen. She had me do an intense workout with no food, water, or breaks. I had no idea how I was going to escape from this predicament."

"Why not escape when she isn't looking?" Y/n said to throw an idea on the situation.

"She had a guard watching me like a hawk. I was dressed all in white and ready for our wedding...*sigh* I didn't want to get married, I was scared out of my mind. I didn't know what happened to Luigi or if he was alive."

"Like a princess trapped in a castle?" Y/n said with a sympathetic tone. I could help but smile. I didn't see it that way but I guess I need a hero to save me from that wedding.

"Yeah like a princess, Queen Rotunda had dragged me down the aisle. I did my best to slow the queen down as much as I could. That didn't help and I was standing in front of the pastor. I was sweating and I looked up to pray for the heavens and that's when I saw Luigi.
I immediately knew, what I need to do.
'WAIT!', my shoe is untied."

"But uncle Mario you don't wear shoelaces. Unless you used to wear them?" She questioned but I assured her I didn't wear laces on my adventure. If I did, I would have been in trouble so many times. So I'm glad I'm lace-free.

"I pretended to tie my shoes and I saw Luigi pour some liquid into the punch. I kinda got the idea that Queen Rotunda had to drink it. So, I announced a toast and handed a drink to the queen and to some prince. Once they started to drink and I got out of the way. They both fell in love immediately and got married right on the spot." I said finishing the story.

"So uncle Luigi poured a love potion in the punch but that means everyone would have fall in love with each other." Y/n meant and she wasn't wrong.
"That's true, before we left the wedding, someone drank the punch and saw Luigi. She fell head over and started to chase Luigi. So we booked it out of that kingdom."

"Who knows what happened to that woman or that kingdom. I'm not planning to come back either." I told my niece.

"OOOh~ I'm curious uncle Mario. On what the kingdom looks like now since they took that love potion. I wonder how they are and I wonder if that love potion ran out?" She thought out loud.

"Well, I hope they still love each other after the potion runs out. And I'm sure the kingdom is fine." I assure her. I checked the time and realized it was very late. "Y/n it's late and you should get some sleep. If you like you can sleep in the fort for tonight."

"*yawn* yes please, good night uncle Mario," Y/n said and give me a sleepy hug. Then she curled up into her plush and fell asleep. I smiled, give her a small kiss, and covered her up. I quietly left the fort and turned off the lights.
I stand outside of her door room and saw Luigi standing at the end of the hallway. "Telling her more past adventures, Mario?" Luigi said with a smile. "Ah well uh no of course not." I smiled.

"Mario it's okay, I can't stop you and I can't stop her curiosity either. I have put some thought into it. You can tell her as many as you wish." Luigi said with a smile which made me smile bigger. I went to hug him tight.

"Why did you change your mind, you know out of curiosity," I asked and let go of Luigi.

"Well, I told her a past adventure story a couple of days ago and she liked it. I thought she might be afraid or try to reimagine the story or do crazy stunts. But no, she just likes adventure stories." Luigi said. I smiled and put my arm over his shoulder. We walked together towards our room and rested for tonight.
