Honestly i know woy isnt a very serious show but i rlly like how sylvia being one of the villains wander redeemed pre-show is handled. Not only do you see leftover pieces of this side of her both in her love of violence and adventure and in many episodes but you also see what a truly kind and good person she is now. And unlike other characters she doesnt dwell on her past- she outright says she wants to just focus on the future. While she is ashamed she used to be a bad guy, she tries not to let it get to her and keep moving forward and thats very encouraging. Also think its interesting that in the rider she says wander makes her a good person but in reality she proved herself to be kind without his influence. While wander being, as she says, the only person to ever see the good in her was what she needed to start the change, his presence is NOT what determines whether she continues to be a good person or not and never has been. She's kind and loving in her own right and its just...very nice to see.

Shes a good role model for kids because while people love redeemed villains they never see themselves in a similar light. As a bad person who needs to improve. People have protagonist syndrome and tend to view themselves as good guys with complex motivations even when they're just being dicks. But sylvia shows that theres no shame in admitting you are or were a bad person because once you do that you can be better. A lot of people are afraid to break the protagonist syndrome bubble because then they'll have to confront that they've become the 'antagonist' but life isnt a story where the present is the conclusion, it's ongoing. I feel like growing up with a role model who tells you it's ok to come out the 'bad guy' in your story and then make the effort to change and move on without letting it define you is really helpful and nice and a much more nuanced lesson than more tryhard shows have ever given kids
