Its basically a rescue animal that wander saved from abuse. It's sassy but also adores wander and he treats it with so much respect and never questions its judgement or demands stuff from it. He makes it clear he wont use hat to give him stuff he wants and gives hat the freedom to choose when and what to give even when its a MASSIVE inconvenience figuring out what to do with it. Idk man.
