Layla yells "Stop!" and Angelina hits the break of her car and the two get jolted forward slightly from the car stopping as Marc lays flat on the ground in front of Angelina's car
"Marc?"
"Try to show you what I found." Steven says "I found this bad in the storage locker."
"Steven don't... Listen to me."
"What do you mean...?"
"Stop what you're doing right now."
"Of things."
"Don't show them what's in the bag."
"Most interestingly..."
"You're gonna get Angelina killed. You hear me?"
Suddenly Steven stops looking through the bag to face Angelina
"So, care to explain the divorce?" Angelina says and Layla sighs "it's a long story."
Well... it started when we found out you were a victim of the blip." Layla says sitting down in one of the chairs
"When we found out... of course I was heartbroken to hear my best friend got blipped away, but... it took a toll on Marc." Layla says
"What do you mean...?"
"He-he wasn't himself, he barely talked, he just looked at pictures of you that were taken on our past adventures. He was barely home, he was always out doing jobs to keep his mind busy so I guess he didn't break." Layla says and Angelina's heart broke as she listens to what effect she had on him when she disappeared for 5 years
"And during that time... our love for each other just... faded away. Was I mad? No. Because we both were going through some rough patches and we both talked about it and we agreed it's the best for us." Layla says and Angelina sniffs as she wipes a tear she didn't know was falling down her cheek
"So... your saying I'm the cause of this?" Angelina says and Layla shoots up from her chair as fast as lightning, almost as if she expected Angelina to say that.
"No, don't you dare say that." Layla says putting her hands on Angelina's shoulders
"You've already been through enough. You are not putting this on yourself, you hear me? This isn't your fault, okay? You cannot blame yourself." Layla says
"But-" "No buts, you've had nothing to do with this choice, we chose to do this. Do you understand me? Promise me, you won't blame yourself." Layla says
Angelina sighs "I promise." And the two hug
"Where's the scarab?"
"I have it." Angelina says showing it in the air as she and Layla carefully approach the two
Hey!" Angelina says kneeling down to his level "You can do this, I promise." Angelina says and the two lock eyes "Steven..."
