Mistakes, regret and... Second Chance

Uzumaki Narumi, the seventh Hokage

The girl didn't have a perfect life but she had a loving husband and two children

At first, the girl loved Sasuke

She loved him from the starting

That's why she chased him for years and at the end when she finally brought him back, she was going to confess ...

But before she could, Sasuke had already chosen sakura, her heart broke into a million pieces but still, she congratulated them with a smile...

Then Hinata came and brought her back to life, slowly-slowly she started liking him and after the toneri (bisexual toneri) incident, she married him

They had two children too

Boruto and Himawari

Saying that She got over Sasuke was an overstatement, her heart still pained when she saw Sasuke with sakura but she controlled herself and looked forward to her family which was now her 'happily ever after'

But her' happily ever after' got ruined by the Otsutsuki's

When this reached killing her own son, she tried to delay it as late as she can do...

Then, her soulmate Kurama left her too...

The girl was so distressed

One day, she thought about giving her husband a surprise

When she reached home, boruto was with his friends outside, and Himawari was with Inojin

And Hinata...

She walked into their master bedroom, ready to give her beloved husband a surprise but when she opened the door...

The scene made her doubt her own eyes

Was m-making out with some other unknown woman, tears left her eyes as she silently walked away and reached into her personal room where she did her Hokage work.

She closed the door and took out a scroll

In the scroll, was written

That if the Hokage wants to take her/his life and also wants to protect the village hidden in the leaves

The Hokage should do the said process and after that, a barrier will be created for the next hundred years

Hashirama Senju was the first and last to do that after him no one did it as the process was way too painful, even for the Otsutsukis it was too much

In the process, you need to bear the extreme pain from the start to the end if you didn't and died during the process, your sacrifice will go waste.

If it means that I can die and still protect my village then it's the right thing to do thought the girl before starting the process

If the barrier is once created, not even the Otsutsukis can break it.

No one seemed to hear her screams of agony as the room was soundproof, no one even tried to hear them from the Start

The process was finished, and the girl was taking her last breaths. Luckily, she was able to bear the pain the pain was nothing compared to her Mental pain which she was bearing all the time, no actually she bore the pain since she was a toddler

A big hole was in her stomach, blood was coming out from the corner of her lips, she took her last breath and left to meet her parents and master...

After some time, Sasuke knocked on the door and became worried when someone didn't open the door, outside voice can come in but inside's can't go outside

He knocked again "Narumi, Don't tell me you slept again" the man sighed, she slept again, didn't she

He opened the door, his eyes widened, the heart-wrenching scene made his heart skip a beat

"NARUMI" he screamed and reached for the girl

He checked her nerves, heartbeat, and breath

Nothing

" Narumi..." he gasped, when he found out that the said girl didn't exist anymore

Tears left his eyes not caring about his pride

He placed the girl's head on his lap and stared at her with agony in his eyes

He knelt and hugged the lifeless body, he sobbed and sobbed and sobbed harder

When he was coming into her room, he noticed how her husband cheated on her, he wanted to try... To comfort her, but this wasn't the thing he was expecting to see

He looked up and noticed the scrolls, he took one and read it...

Her death was this painful... Was the thought which came into his mind after reading the said scroll. To see his childhood friend die infront of him was a true nightmare... Never had he ever thought that the girl who was ready to sacrifice her life for him, would die in such a condition... it wasn't what the raven and blonde thought. It was different in the worst way... He felt helpless... To not be able to save the girl who saved him from his own darkness was a tragedy which happened to him at that cursed moment.

All this was too much. He had a wife and daughter but both of them felt nothing when he compared them to her. He learnt that unknowingly he made a wrong decision in his life which may be the reason for his dear friend's painful death. He couldn't do anything but cry and cry his hardest enought to make him fall asleep. He wanted to end his life, the life without his dear friend  felt futile.
She wasn't the reason he was living, right?
was she?...
