Elizabeth pov 

"No" she said plainly, no trace of a lie in her voice 

I suddenly felt disappointed. I wanted her to say yes so I'd have the confidence to tell her about the growing feelings I was having 

I knew I shouldnt have them but I couldnt help how I felt so I was trying to come to terms with them 

"Oh..." I didnt even bother to cover up how sad that just made me 

"El-"

"Nah, no its fine-" my phone ringed beside me and I looked at the contact, Tyler 

I rolled my eyes and was about to hit that familiar red button but thought about it. I'm being childish. Ignoring him over something that was so stupid 

I looked at Lavender before answering the phone 

"Yes?" 

"Took you long enough to answer" he huffed 

"I can hang up" I said with attitude 

"Aye aight stop playin shawty. My ma dukes havin a dinner and want ha daughta in law ova"

"Well tell yo "ma dukes" im busy" I mocked him and rolled my eyes 

He smacked his lips, "Mane you can bring that friend ova"

"Bet. What time is it?"

"In three hours and 30mins"

I didnt even answer and just hung up 

"Want to come with me over my husbands mother house?" I asked as I stood up 

"Uh- dont you think that'd be weird-"

"Were just friends remember?" i smiled tightly, "I mean you did just say that right?"

"Right" she muttered. "But seeing your reaction im regretting it so is there any possible way I can erase my answer and try again?"

I laughed, "My feelings isnt a test, Lavender" my laughter died down quickly. "So are you comin?"

"Sure. How much time we got to get ready?"

"three hours and thirty mins" 

"Shower together to make time go quicker?" she suggested quickly 

"Friends dont-"

"Stop doing that. Yes or no?" she groaned

After forty minutes in the shower we finally got out. We might have got side tracked with her giving me a earth shattering apology orgasm  

Another twenty minutes went by of us just goofing off in front of the mirror while doing make up 

I pecked her lips and walked out of the bathroom and back to her bedroom. I went in her closet for my bookbag 

I put on a white off shoulder drawstring floral top with a square in the middle showing a bit of cleavage and a matching skirt that stopped mid thigh, I paired it with white minimalist ankle strap chunky heeled sandals

I put my hair in a high ponytail, sprayed some water on it to get it curly then wrapped a pink flowered scarf around my head. I looked really cute 

I slipped on my butterfly charm bracelet, a gold ankle bracelet, and my marriage ring with a ring my mother gave me also

A few minutes later Lavender came into the room and i was speechless 

"What, am I overdressed?" she asked with a hint of insecurity 

She was wearing a black strapless corest top, cotton black slacks, and three inch black heels. Five rings littered her hand, two on her middle finger, one on her pinky, one on her thumb, and the last one on her other hand middle finger. A gold chain laid flatly on her exposed chest and her wavy brown hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail showing off all her sharp features 

"God im so gay, come on before I accidentally jump your bones and we not make it to this dinner on time"
