43~ iwaoi (angst)

so oikawa is around 27 here

It was a dull, gloomy day outside today. The sun was hidden amongst the cloud, not allowing any sunlight to touch Oikawa's skin as he laid on the ground next to his best friend Iwaizumi.

Oikawa and his Iwa-chan go way back. From when they were kids to now. Not a moment goes by where they didn't think of each other. Hell they even talked about marriage.

"Remember when we were younger and you used to catch bugs?" Oikawa started. "It was so cute. The look you had on your face every time you caught one. Then you would chase me around with it! How evil of you Iwa-chan." Oikawa laughed softly.

A quick breeze blew through his hair, causing his smile to fade slowly. "It's pretty cold out Iwa-chan. Ahh~ the things I do for you." He chuckled.

The silence that followed was deafening. Oikawa had to keep talking.

"I um.. I miss playing volleyball. When was the last time we did that Iwa? It feels like years ago!" Oikawa huffed and moved closer to his boyfriend.

"Hanamaki, Matsukawa, eveyone else, I've been in touch with them recently too. Not as much as you though Iwa-chan~ so no need to get all jealous like how you always are."

"They um.. They miss playing with you too ya know. Everyone says hi! They said they would come visit some time next week though!" Oikawa said running a hand through his hair.

It was around 5:00pm, the sun still not showing itself as it began to set.

"Man... Another gloomy day. I feel like that's all the days are anymore; grey and boring." Oikawa said shakily.

"Hajime..." Oikawa started

"I miss you." That's when he started to give in and let the tears roll down his face. He was staring up at the sky through his tears, hoping, begging to just see his Iwa-chan again.

"I want to be with you. I've tried to be with you. I don't wanna be here with out you anymore Hajime! You're all I've ever know!" Oikawa shouted. "But Matsuaka and Hanamaki won't let me!" He added through sobs.

Oikawa sat up on his knees and faced his boyfriend. He had his hands covering his eyes in an attempt to calm down and slow the tears.

"A-And I know you would hate me if I was with you right now. You would be so mad.. That's why I keep going.. I'm doing it for the both of us. I-It's just so hard Iwa-chan." Oikawa said, throwing his head back and looking up at the sky.

The sun was just barley peeking through. A ray of light shining on Oikawas face. Oikawa took in a shakey breath and closed his eyes, allowing the sun to seep into his skin, finally feeling warmth again.

But not the same warmth he missed, no, that he needed.

"Thank you Hajime." Oikawa said, calming down from the warmth that hit him.

"Im sorry. It's just a lot sometimes. It only been a year, but it feels like an eternity." Oikawa sighed looking at his boyfriend again.

"I miss when you called me names, as rude as they were." He added, forcing a smile. "I miss how warm I was in your arms, I miss your smell, your smile, your eyes. I miss you." Oikawa said starting to cry again.

"But you already know all this. And as much as you probably hate to admit it. I bet you miss me too Iwa-chan~" Oikawa laughed through his soft cries.

Oikawa looked down at his Iwa-chan again. Tears falling on top of him.

Or should I have said what was once him.

Oikawa Tooru, the funny, confident, and overall bundle of joy to be around, was sobbing on top of his best friend and soulmates grave.

It all happened so fast. One minute Oikawa and Iwa were living a normal life, they both finished college, and were planning a life together. But out of no where Iwaizumi got deathly ill.

It was so hard for both of them. But in the end Iwaizumi Hajime, did not survive.

"I love you Hajime." Oikawa said hugging the tombstone. "I'm sorry this happened to you. I'll love you forever. I always have." He said in between sobs.

The sun shining on his face seemed to shine even stronger. Oikawa smiled at the feeling. "You always were my sunshine." He said shakily.

Oikawa stood up and looked down at the tombstone. 'Iwaizumi Hajime' It read. 'loved by everyone , gone but never forgotten'

The brunette wiped his tears and took a deep breath. Earlier this week he had placed some blue flowers beside his tomb. Today, he added some white ones as well. "Look Hajime, it's like our old team colors." Oikawa said forcing a laugh.

"I'll be back tomorrow my love." Oikawa said as he run a thumb over his name. He turned around and looked at the sky.

"I'll be back everyday. I'll never leave you, my Iwa-chan." Oikawa smiled as reached towards the sky.
