Sophie tried to fall asleep but the dreams kept her up. Every time she started to drift she would see Fitz. She dreamed that he was sitting on the corner of her bed trying to get her to cheat on Keefe and kiss him, then he fell off the bed and started screaming on the floor like she was inflicting on him.
The dream kept repeating. Then on what must have been at least the 100th time Dex appeared.
"Sophie, Sophie, Sophie-" he said. But when she opened her eyes she realized this was no dream. The strawberry blonde boy stood leaning above her bed trying to shake her awake.
"Finally" he groaned. Small streaks of sunlight beamed through the window. "What time is it" she mumbled "time for school" Dex hissed. "What?!" Sophie jumped out of her bed and ran to her closet.
She came out wearing her foxfire uniform. She brushed her hair. "Lets go!" She shouted running upstairs to the leapmaster.
"Im coming, im coming" dex said, running up the stairs. "FOXFIRE" she shouted.
Sophie p.o.v.
As foxfire glittered into focus I ran toward the artrium. Dex and I arrived just in time to get a seat. I plopped down next to Keefe with dex on my other side.
When morning assembly was done Dex and I ran to our wing. I snoozed through elvin history, today they were talking about the treaty with the dwarves. In elementism We bottled lightning bolts.
At lunch I headed to the cafeteria. I grabbed some red fruit that tasted like pizza. I looked for Keefe in the crowded room. Luckily he saw me first and started waving to get my attention .
I sat down next to him as marella sat down next to me with Maruca across from me. Biana sat down next to Keefe. Surprisingly Stina sat down with us next to Maruca. Tam, Linh and Dex sat down as well.
"Ugh I have telepathy next.." I whined "It'll be okay" Keefe said "remember only talk to Teirgan. Just use the silent treatment. It wont be TOO big of a deal, okay it'll be a pretty big deal." He admitted " But your Sophie Foster, girl extraordinaire, the only elf with 5 abilities, project moonlark, best girl I know." Keefe complimented.
I was sure the people on mars could see me blush. I groaned as the loud bell rang. Keefe walked beside me with his arm around my shoulders as I trudged toward my telepathy session. When we reached the stairs I went up, I smiled at him and he winked.
"See you in study hall" I mumbled "I'll save you a seat next to me" he assured "oh, and Foster?" He asked
"Yeah?" I wondered "try not to let Fitz get to you" he walked about 50 feet before turning around and hollering "love you, Foster" everyone's head turned to stare at me-including Fitz, who scowled- but I wasn't embarrassed "Love you, Keefe" I yelled back.
Fitz pushed passed me grumbling some less than kind words that would make Ro proud. I sat down in telepathy, thankful that Teirgan had moved our chairs as far as possible across the room. We sat down in the chairs, the scowl still on Fitz's face.
"So" Teirgan said, spinning around in his chair "Sophie hailed me last night and told me what happened, in hope that we could separate your sessions, so im assuming trust exercises wouldn't be best, so we're going to do some long distance transmissions today" he explained "but since im one to make things complicated you will be doing this while levitating, because keeping part of your attention on something else will be a valuable skill."
"Let's hope Fitz doesn't get stuck in another chandelier" I joked , levitating up
"Okay to make this even more difficult you must constantly be walking as you levitate" Teirgan decided
"Easy" I said walking around the large room, focusing on my hip movement
"How do you do that so easily?" Fitz grumbled
"Like i'd tell you" I quipped "but, I will say that after I left the healing center yesterday, Keefe came to my house, and , to get my mind off how much of a jerk you are, we worked on some levitating,"
"Okay, break it up" Teirgan warned "okay, you're going to transmit to someone you trust"
"10 lusters says Sophie's transmitting to Keefe," Fitz said to Teirgan
"actually I was going to transmit to silveny, but that's a much better idea," I decided
