Vanitas POV:
When he got into the kitchen he saw how Noe was extremely excited about the food
"Typical..." Vanitas mumbled, his lips curling upward

She wasn't here yet

"Alright,you can do it!you did it plenty of times before,just greet her like you normally would!" Vanitas though as he took a seat on the opposite side of Noe.

"What are you waiting for Vanitas-san? Dig in! You must be starving" Amelia said as she put the dishes down in front of Dante and his crew

Vanitas was so frustrated that he didn't even notice them.
"Are you alright? Dante?"
"Oh worried now,are we? YOU QUACK WHY DID YOU HAVE TO HIT ME SO BAD?"
Dante yelled as he got up from his seat

"I apologise for my behaviour last night,I admit it wasn't very...classy but I had no choice did I? You wouldn't give me the gun"
Vanitas said as he took a bite of the pork in front of him

"THAT IS NOT THE POINT"
"Now now dear Dante,its in the past" Johann said as he patted Dante's back

If Vanitas didn't know better he would've actually thought that Dante was mad at him,but he saw the way he just...brushed it off

Dante wasn't mad at him for his stupid impulse. Thats good.
Not that he felt too bad about it
After all he was panicking and the only reasonable weapon was that gun.

"Yeah Baldy after all it was just-"
Just as Vanitas was about to tease Dante the door of the kitchen swung open.

Lucas was holding Jeanne's hand as he was leading her into the kitchen.They both changed into something ...more comfortable

Jeanne was wearing a long blue dress and ..god did blue look good on her

He was used seeing her in the usual "combat outfit"
Seeing her in casual clothes gave him a warm feeling inside and.. all his composure was out the window.

He could feel his cheeks flush,he could feel it!
"ACT NORMAL DAMN IT" Vanitas scolded himself in his mind.

He took a deep breath as he looked over at them.
Jeanne was going for the seat right next to him.
Oh for the love of-
How could he keep himself together?

"It was just?" Riche said curious of what Vanitas was about to say

Vanitas looked over at them confused
"I can't remember anymore..."
He ducked his head down as he took another bite mindlessly chewing.

"Good morning everyone" Jeanne beamed as she sat next to Vanitas
"Good morning"
"Morning..."

Lucas took a seat next to Jeanne
"May I ask,what was the commotion about last night?" He asked as he looked over between Vanitas and Noe

"Nothing really just some friends fighting" Vanitas teased
"Why so curious? Were you worried about me Luca?"

"WHAT? D-DONT GET THE WRONG IDEA! SEE JEANNE? HE IS IN PERFECT SHAPE!"

What did he say?
Why did he tell Jeanne that? Was she worried about him?
Vanitas looked over at flustered Jeanne. Was she really worried?

"LETS GET DRINKING SHALL WE?" Dante said as he got the bottle of wine from the table
"Let's forget about last night and just enjoy ourselves until the afternoon! Right? Mister Lucas?"

"Y-yes indeed! Until Lady Dominique wakes up we have nothing to do anyway,we have to hear the part of her story as well..."
"LETS DRINK AND EAT FOR ALL OUR SAKES!" Riche cheered as she got a cup of wine
"CHEERS!" everyone in the room said
Everyone except Vanitas

He didn't feel like celebrating
He felt like talking
And that was what he's gonna do

"Jeann-"
"Vanita-"
They both said in union

"You first" Vanitas said scratching the back of his neck
"A-Are you feeling alright? Are you wounds still hurting? What happened last night?"

"Oh my if aren't you curios my dear"
Vanitas teased as he took her hand giving it a soft kiss
Good you're doing great he told himself

When he saw the look of pure concern and seriousness on the Vampire's face he knew he couldn't keep on teasing her anymore

"Lets talk somewhere else Jeanne,this place..."
He took a glance at everyone in the room celebrating..whatever they were celebrating noticing that some other hotel staff that he saw around also joined in

"Understood!" Jeanne said as she got up as well
"Oh but don't you want to eat something first Vanit-"
"I'll be eating later,don't worry" He said softly as he took her hand

Jeanne POV:

Jeanne looked at their intertwined hands
They looked so good together...
CONCENTRATE!
She has to ask so many things

He looks normal...well normal for Vanitas's level.
She thought
He acted like usual,even though there were some tiny moments when he would lose his composure .

"Where are we going Vanitas?"
"Somewhere I like to reflect,it's a beautiful place,you'll see"

As they were walking she realised where she was leading her,to the clock tower
//(I DONT KNOW IF THATS HOW ITS CALLED OK? THAT TALL TOWER WITH THE 🔔)

The walk over there was silent,but Jeanne didn't miss those tiny glimpsesVanitas would give her from time to time,as well as the little hand squeezes.

Butterflies formed in her stomach,and she felt as if she didn't want this walk to ever end

When they got there Vanitas let go of her hand as he took a seat down
"I love the view from up here...it- clears my mind"
He said as he looked down,wind blowing trough his hair

Jeanne decided to sit next to him,not taking her eyes off of him.
"Jeanne are you alright?" Vanitas said meeting her eyes

"Yes why wouldn't I be?" Jeanne said as she took the opportunity to push some of the hair threads behind his ears.

After she realised her actions she froze. Her hand still in his hair.
There was silence that followed
Now they were both blushing
"I I I'M SORRY I DIDNT MEAN TO,THE WIND WAS JUST...AND I...WELL"

Vanitas took her hand,putting it on his cheek
"Were you afraid?"
"Of what?"
"Of me? Last night?" He asked,looking more vulnerable than ever

He has this look on his face that made Jeanne's inside twitch. This man was going to be the end of her...
