Roni wasn't sure whether she was pissed off at herself or at Fridge for arranging the pairs. She silently glared at the back of his head until he whirled around and held the torch between them.

"We need to talk."

"Or we could never speak about it again," Roni suggested.

Surprisingly, Fridge nodded his head in agreement and motioned for them to keep moving. However, he stopped after walking a few feet and turned around to face her again.

She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "You're not gonna leave this alone, are you?"

He shook his head. "No, I don't think I can."

"Okay, fine," Roni crossed her arms. "You want to talk, let's talk. We kissed. It was nice, but it was an emotional-in-the moment-kind-of-thing that will never, ever happen again."

"You thought it was nice?"

"Did you miss the part where I said it would never, ever happen again?"

"Shhh," Fridge shushed her and gestured ahead to where some of the trees had started to move.

"Jaguars?"

"Stay calm," Fridge instructed, but Roni wasn't sure if it was for her or for him. "Don't panic."

An elephant entered the clearing, running straight toward them. Roni's eyes widened and she pulled at Fridge's arm. "Fridge..."

"Stop!" Fridge held out his hand and commanded the creature. It listened. Fridge then muttered under his breath, "It's the elephant and the mouse."

Roni couldn't help but smile at the reference.

"What's up?" Fridge asked. "Mouse Finbar. Zoologist. Zoologist and... and backpack guy."

"Alright, backpack guy," Roni chuckled under her breath, "What now?"

"Ever ride an elephant before?"
