Chapter 1: A New Mission

It was a fine sunny day at Enies Lobby, well it is always sunny at Enies Lobby. If I wanted different weather I would have to go to another island. There was a meeting today with Spandex (that is my nickname for Spandam) but I chose to skip it cause from all that I know, there wasn't gonna be a new mission anytime soon, at least, that's what I thought. 

"Emma!" I turned at the sound of my name. "Oh hey Kaku." I said as my lanky colleague came jogging towards me. "Is there a reason why you skipped today's meeting?" He said, looking at me with those piercing eyes of his. "Not really, other that I just wanted to upset Spandex."  I replied. Kaku bent his head to stifled a giggle, then looked back up at me. "We have a new mission Emma." I snapped my head up , it has been so long since our last mission I thought Spandex would never give us another one. 

"Since you were not at the conference, I can give you then run down." Kaku said to me. "I guess I can bear to listen to you give me the run down Kaku. You are quicker at it than Spandex anyway." I said with a smile. Kaku cleared his throat." Well, to put it in simple words, you are the bait for this mission." I smirked. "Of course I'm the bait Kaku, nobody would suspect an eleven year old to be part of a super secret organization in the World Government." I replied. "Who is our target?" " Our target is Iceburg, mayor of Water 7 and CEO of a ship building company, we suspect that he might have the plans for an ancient weapon Pluton." Kaku says. "This is where you come in Emma," Kaku continues " Every morning our sources say the Iceburg takes a walk along the shores of Water 7, your job is to make it look like you have shipwrecked and there are no other survivors." Kaku finishes then looks at me. " We will be able to get you halfway to Water 7, there is a small rowboat waiting for you at the half point, using your devil fruit powers you can make yourself ill am I correct?" Kaku asks. "Yeah that seems easy, though to look shipwrecked I am going to have to starve myself a little a few days before, when am I leaving?" I asked Kaku. He gives me a grim look " You have 5 days before you have to leave Lucci, Kalifa, and Blueno leave today to secure their jobs." "What about you?" I asked,  " Are you coming with me?" "No, I come a month after you." Kaku says. "What roles are you and I playing then?" I asked.  "You Emma, are playing the role of run away little sister, while I am going to be the worried big brother."  Kaku says and walks away before I can ask any more questions

   I decided during supper today I would train with my devil fruit. I have the Element-element fruit, I call it the ellie-ellie fruit cause it's easier to say. I can manipulate fire, water, wind, and plants. I have had the devil fruit since Lucci found me on the sea train tracks when I was six. It is a dangerous fruit so I have to train hard to keep control of it. Unlike the devil fruits like the Flame-Flame fruit and the Chilly-Chilly fruit which focuses on just one element, I control the four main elements so it is a little harder to make sure I have it all under control. But with the devil fruit powers, I can also control my body temperature. So to really play my part of shipwrecked kid, I can make myself have a high fever, it takes my energy, but if I can hook Iceburg I will be good to go. My stomach rumbles I ignore it and lift more weights and focus on keeping my body temperature low enough that I won't sweat. It takes work and concentration to do so, but it is doable. 5 days from now, I will have to be weak so no more work outs after today, I thought to myself.

I open the window beside me on the sea train, the wind is whistling through my ears and my hair. To make my disguise complete, other than my hunger and thirst, I have rags on. The conductor knows when to slow down, I can see the small rowboat coming up. I have nothing with me so all I have to do is open my window. As we pass the boat, I jump out of the train into the water, activating the water part of my devil fruit so I won't drown, I land in the water and climb into the boat. From where I am, I have two more days without oars or sails to make it to Water 7, then my mission begins.
