5: 30 pm

I am lying on my bed staring at my ceiling. I stared and stalked George Shelley all day and I snacked on a lot of cookies and read some books.

You could clearly say I was bored.

I got out of my bed and made my way downstairs to the living room and sat on the couch to read a magazine. I might as well go through the fashion magazine to work on some new ideas....

"You look like a complete mess!" I heard my brother.

I turned around to see my brother in a suit "Damn Ricky! You look really great!" I complemented him

"Yeah yeah, I know I look good. But I'm very concerned about you" he told me

"Just because you are not going out does not mean you dress up like a " he paused to get the right word "A potato. Yes! You have dressed up to look like a sack of potato"

"Why does it concern you anyway? I wish to be dressed like this" I replied firmly

"You know what? Remain just the way you are and cry yourself to sleep every night" he gave up and walked out of the door. I went back to reading the magazine

He was trying his level best to help me out of the sadness I was in. As much as I wanted to yell and smack Jamie..he wanted to the same.

"What was that about?" I, once again turned around to see my mother..dressed in a beautiful red dress

"Mom! You look amazing!" I gasped

"Oh,  I've gained a little weight" she looked down at her stomach "Since when were you so concerned about that?" I chuckled

"Since I read an article by Megan Shay" she informed me

"You mean the nutritionist?" I asked. "Yes, the same person . According to her article, women must take care of their health" she told me "especially in their forties" she whispered

"But you will always be beautiful" my dad walked in and kissed my mum's cheek "Remember..through sickness and health" he reminded my mum, she smiled

"Alright then, we better make a move" dad spoke

"Did Ricky leave already?" Mum asked me "he did" I answered

"Well then, see you.." He stopped mid way and examined me, from head to toe "Valerie, you look hideous!" He exclaimed

"Richard!" Mum scolded him

"What? I'm just saying that she looks terrible right now...please go upstairs and dress into something better" my dad instructed me

"I will, why don't you two have a lovely evening" I spoke so as to shoo them away

"I mean it Valerie, you better dress better" I heard dad say again and then I heard the front door close.

I let out a sigh and then walked upstairs to my room.

What was it with everyone in the attire I am in today?

Once again today, I stood lost in front of my clothes. The difference is that now I had to dress a little better because I could not go against my dad's words.

I picked out a black and white stripes dress and a pair of stocking. I wore them and then chose ankle length boots for my foot.

I braided my hair into a waterfall braid and did slight make up.

As I looked at myself in the mirror I thought, it would be a good thought if I treated myself to some place, like how I always used to.

I walked out of my room and headed downstairs and walked to kitchen to grab a glass of some juice.
