The school lawns were covered in news vans and reporters. Sidney and I looked around as we headed towards the doors that led into the school. "What the hell," I mumbled. "Do you believe this shit?" Sidney and I jump a little as Tatum comes up behind us. "Damn, what's going on?" Sid asked. "You don't know?" She asked. I shook my head, "know what?" I asked. "Casey Becker and Steve Orith were killed last night," she said.

"What? No way," Sidney said. We were both looking at Tatum in disbelief. Casey was on the cheer team with me and Tatum. And she was in mine and Sidney's English class. We walked towards the doors while Tatum told us what happened. Her brother Dewey is on the police force so she would have heard about it as soon as the call came in.

"Were not just talking killed were talking splatter movie killed. Ripped open from end to end," she said. "Oh, my god," I said. "Casey Becker? She sits next to me in English," Sid says. "Not anymore," I mumbled. "It's so sad her mom and dad found her hanging from a tree with her insides on the outside," Tatum said as we stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. "Oh my god!" Sidney said looking at Tatum. We walked up the steps and Tatum continued talking about it. "Yeah, they're interrogating the entire school," she tells us. "They think it's school related?" I asked. "Their Fucking Clueless, I mean Dewey said it's the worst crime here, since," Tatum stopped. I knew she was going to say it was worse than our mothers murder. "Well, it's bad."

Sidney and I sat in English. The empty seat beside Sid screamed something bad had really happened. I noticed she couldn't take her eyes off of it. "Sidney and y/n, it appears to be your turn." I looked at the teacher and then over at Sid. We grabbed our bags and headed for Principal Himbry's office. The police were questioning all the students today. "So, what do you think they'll ask?" I asked Sid. "I don't know. Probably if we knew Casey and Steve," she said. We walked down the stairs and into the office.

"Hi Sidney. Y/N," Principal Himbry said as we walked into his office. "Sheriff Burke, Dewey," Sid said. "Uh..that's Deputy Riley today Sid," Dewey told her. Sidney looked at Dewey as we sat down. "How is everything?" Sheriff Burke asked us. "Good," Sidney and I said in unison. "And your dad, how is he?" He said. "We're fine thanks," I told him.

"We are going to keep this very brief, girls. The police just want to ask you a few questions," Principal Himbry said, holding my cheek. Sheriff Burke looked at the him suspiciously. "You okay?" Himbry asked us. We both nod and Sid hummed. "Girls, were you very close to Casey Becker?" Sheriff Burke asked. "No. I didn't know her very well," Sidney said. "What about you, Y/N? You were on the cheer team together, right?" I nodded my head, "yeah, but we weren't that close."

They asked a few more questions and then let us go. The time we got out it was lunch time. We walked out of the school and towards the Fountain where we ate lunch with our friends.

Billy was laying down, one leg propped up and Sidney sat between his legs, Tatum sat between us, I sat between Stu's legs, who had one leg propped up behind me as I leaned into him, and Randy sat on our other side. Stu was playing with my fingers when Tatum spoke up.

"What kind of questions did they ask you guys?" She asked, looking between me and Sid. "They asked us if we knew Casey," Sid said. "They asked me too," she said. "Hey did they ask if you liked to hunt?" Stu asked Billy. Billy looked up, "Yeah, they did. Did they ask you?" He asked and Stu nodded. He was still playing with my fingers. Tatum scrunched her forehead, "Why would they ask if you liked to hunt?" She asked.

"Cause they're bodies were gutted," Randy said and we all looked at them. Billy sat up and looked at him, "Thank you, Randy," he said. "They didn't ask me if I liked to hunt," Tatum said. With his head leaned against mine Stu said, "Cause there is no way a girl could've killed them." Tatum looked at him offended, "That is so sexist. The killer could easily be a female, Basic Extinct," she said. "That was an ice pick, not exactly the same thing," Randy said. I scoffed at that and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, Casey and Steve were completely hollowed out. And the fact is it takes a man to do something like that," Stu said. I tilted my head and looked at her m, "Or a man's mentality," I said. He smiled and gave me a quick peck on the lips.

"How do you....gut someone?" Sidney asked quietly. We all look over at Sidney as she looked down and played with her shoe laces. "You take a knife and you slit them from groin to sternum," Stu said. I turned my body and looked at him and then elbowed him. Sidney looks disgusted with what he just said. "Hey It's called tact you fuckrag," Billy said. "Hey Stu, didn't you used to date Casey?" Sidney asked.

I totally forgot Stu dated Casey two years ago before we started dating. They broke up and he asked me out and then she started dating Steve. "Yeah for like two seconds," Stu said. "Before she dumped him for Steve," Randy said. I looked back at Stu, eyebrow raised," "I thought you dumped her for me," I said. Stu looked at me and kissed my forehead, "I did, baby. He's full of shit," he said and looked at randy.

Randy smirked at him, "And are the police aware you dated the victim?" He asked, popping a grape in his mouth. "What are you trying to say, that I killed her?" Stu asked, sounding offended. Randy shrugged, "It would sure improve your high school Q," he said. I looked at Randy, "Stu was with me last night," I told him. I didn't mention it was only for a few minutes but he didn't need to know that. "Yeah I was," Stu said, kissing my neck. "Was that before or after he sliced and diced?" Randy said

"Fuck you nut case! Where were you last night?" Tatum asked. "Working Thank you," Randy said, smiling at her. "Oh, at the video store? I thought they fired your sorry ass," she said. "Twice," he said. Stu wrapped his arms around me, "I didn't kill anybody," he said. I kissed his cheek. "Nobody said you did," Billy said. I looked over to see him raise his eyebrows. "Thanks buddy," Stu said.

"Besides it takes a man to do a thing like that," Randy mocked Stu. "I'm gonna gut your ass in a second kid," Stu told him. Randy gets up and leans over to Stu, "Did you really put her liver in the mailbox? Cause I heard that they found her liver in the mailbox next to her spleen and pancreas," he said in a weird voice. "Randy you goon, I'm trying to eat here," Tatum said. Randy reaches over Tatum to get food and she pushes him away. "She's getting mad alright? You better liver alone. Liver alone!" Stu laughed. Sidney gave Billy a kiss, got up and then left. Tatum followed after her. Billy moved over and hit Stu in the arm. "Liv — Ow! Liver. Liver. It was a joke!" Stu said. "Not a funny one," I told him and watched my sister walk away.
