I got off the bus and headed towards the front door after checking the mailbox. Sidney decided to stay after school with Tatum. She doesn't want to be at home while dad is away and there is a killer on the loose. I get it but I decided to stay home even if it's by myself. And if I changed my mind I would probably just end up going to Randy's or better yet, Stu's. Besides Randy was going to swing by after work tonight and hang out for a little bit. I walked up onto the front porch, pulling my keys from my bag, and unlocked the front door. Once I walked inside I closed and locked the door behind me and headed straight for the stairs.

As I walked past the coat closet I stopped and turned my head towards the white door. Deep inside me my gut was saying someone was hiding inside behind the coats. I slowly walked over, hand reaching for the door knob. I jumped from the shrill ringing of the phone in the kitchen. "Fuck. Get it together y/n/n," I whispered to myself. It was just my nerves that's what I told myself. I just heard that two of my classmates were murdered last night of course I was going to be a little jumpy.

I walked into the kitchen and picked the phone up. "Hello?" I answer. "Hey, it's just me," Side y said on the other end. "Would you mind grabbing me a change of clothes please. We're going to swing by after Tatum's done with practice. Which by the way— why did you skip?" She asked. I sighed and walked up the stairs, "because I wasn't feeling it today. To be honest I've been thinking about quitting cheer," I told her. "Look I'll get you clothes for you." I said. She sighed, "okay. Thank you." I hung the phone up and dropped my bag on my bed before heading into Sidney's room. I threw the phone on her bed, went to her closet and pulled a pair of jeans out, a red shirt that had white flowers on it, and grabbed her black heeled boots. I set them on the set them went to get her socks, underwear, and a bra.

[RINGING]

I sighed at hearing the phone ring and set the change of clothes for Sidney down before answering it. "Hello?" I heard a scoff on the other end and rolled my eyes. "Is that any way to greet your best friend?" I rolled my eyes, "What do you want, Randy?" I asked. I held the phone between my left ear and shoulder while I gathered the clothes and shoes in my arms before heading downstairs. "Wanted to know what movie to bring over," he said. I walked down the stairs and headed for the coat closet by the door to grab Sidney's overnight bag. I never understood why she didn't just keep it in her closet. I set the clothes on the table in the middle of the foyer and walked to the closet door. My hand reached for it as I answered Randy. "Anything that doesn't have Jamie Lee Curtis in it," I told him.

"What? Why the hell not?" He asked, offended. I opened the closet, reached up and grabbed the bag from the top shelf. "Because you always grab Prom Night or some movie we've seen like a million times," I told him, standing there in front of the open closet door. In the back of my head I thought about when I got home and had that gut feeling someone was in the closet. Before I could think about it any more, Randy groaned. "Fine. I'll pick something new and bring it over. Are we ordering pizza or something?" He asked. "Yeah we can do that. You want anchovies, right?" I asked. "Ew! Now that's just nasty and just for that comment I'm bring Prom Night!" He said. I laughed and closed the closet door.

"I was joking! I swear to god, Randy, if you walk into this house with any movie that Jamie Lee Curtis in it I'm going to kill you," I said. "Is Sid going to be there?" He asked. I rolled my eyes yet again and shook my head as I shoved her things into the bag. "No. Sidney is staying at Tatum's until dad comes home this weekend. She doesn't want to be here alone with a killer on the loose," I told him.

Randy has had a crush on Sidney for as long as I can remember. He never grew the balls to ask her out and she ended up dating Billy before he even got close to it. So now he just admires her from afar. And of course me being her sister and his best friend I get caught in the middle. I kind of feel bad for him but I don't know if Sidney would have ever said yes to him in the first place if he had gotten the courage to ask her out. She's always had a crush on Billy.

"So what time will you be here?" I asked. "Um. I get off at seven tonight. So maybe seven-thirty," he told me. "Okay, well I'll see you when you get here." After we said good-bye we hung up and I headed into the sitting room in the kitchen and flopped down on the couch. I flipped the tv on and flipped through the channels. There was nothing but news about Casey and Steve. Then I stopped when I saw my mothers face pop up. Sidney looked so much like her. I turned the tv off and stood up to head upstairs. I got half way up the stairs when the phone rang again.

"Fuck sakes." I groaned. I walked back down the stairs and into the kitchen. I clicked the answer button and brought it to my ear. "Hello?" I asked, irritated.

"Hello?"

I frowned, nothing recognizing the voice. "Yes?"

"Who is this?" They asked.

"You called me. If you don't know, I think you have the wrong number. Good-bye now," I said and hung up. I shook my head and set the phone on the counter. I didn't even make it two steps before it rang again.

"Hello?" I bit out.

"Why'd you hang up?"

"Because I don't know you. What do you want?" I asked.

"To talk. What are you doing?" He asked.

"About to hang up again. Good-bye," I said.

"Wait. Don't hang up. I want to talk."

I sighed and closed not in the mood for any of this but decided to intertwine him anyway. It was probably just Randy or Stu playing tricks. "Fine. What do you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Do you like scary movies?" He asked.

"Sure. Who doesn't?"

"What's your favorite scary movie?"

I scrunch my eyebrows and think about it. "Um. I don't know. I have a few of them," I said. "What's your favorite?" I asked. I walked towards the living room and sat down.

"You have to have a favorite one. Just pick one," he said.

"Okay. What about Psycho?" I asked.

I heard him hum and chuckle. "I like that one. Good choice," he said. "How about we play a game."

I scoffed, "a game. What kind of game?" I asked.

"Movie trivia. I'll ask you a question and if you get it right you won't die," he said.

My body tensed and I sat straight up on the couch, turned and looked out the window. "Excuse me?" I asked. "Who is this?"

"First question is easy. Who was the killer in Halloween?" He asked.

"Micheal Myers," I answered. "Who the fuck is this? Is this some kind of joke?" I asked.

"I'm asking the questions, y/n."

That has me standing up as my heart jumped into my throat. I never game him my name. Once the pounding of my heart settled I felt anger bleed into my veins. "This isn't fucking funny, Randy!" I asked.

"This isn't Randy. Next questions," he said.

He said it with a little more anger in his voice. "What do you want?" I asked. I leaned over the couch again and looked out the window. It was starting to get dark out, the sun was going down. There was no way a killer would be out in the fucking day time. "Okay. Fine what's the next question?" I asked.

"Are you alone in the house?"

"Yes."

"Same rules. Same game. Same category. You answer correctly and I won't fit you like I did your mother."

I was silent and rushed to the door making sure it was locked before checking the other doors in the house. "Just ask your fucking questions, assholes," I said.

"Who was the killer in Friday the 13th?"

I rolled my eyes. "Trying to hit me with a trick question. Nice try, dickhead. It was Mrs. Voorhees."

I heard him chuckle on the other end as I rushed upstairs to make sure the door to the top deck was locked. "Next question."

"Where am I?" He asked.
