78 INT. WORKSHOP - LATE AFTERNOON
Several men from the town help deliver and stack the crates containing the protosabers inside the workshop as Drake closely examines one of the weapons.
EXUN KAR

DRAKE
No.
Xar sees K3-N8 connected to a protosaber power pack and walks over to get a closer look.
EXUN KAR
What is Nate doing?
Drake answers without looking up from his work.
DRAKE
Charging one of the power packs.
K3 Beeps prompting Drake to think then reply.
DRAKE
Only ten percent?
EXUN KAR
What does that mean?
DRAKE
That the power packs will not store
a long enough charge.
Xar does not understand what Drake means as his curiosity draws him closer to the power pack being charged by K3.
EXUN KAR
I do not understand.
DRAKE
The protosabers won't work long
enough to fight a battle.
EXUN KAR
I see.
Xar reaches out to touch the power pack as he talks.
EXUN KAR
How do we...
Drake looks up as Xar yells out then sees that he has grabbed hold of the charging port where K3 is connected. The electricity has caused the muscles in his hand to constrict and prevent him from letting go.
DRAKE
K3, disengage.
K3 stops the flow of power allowing Xar to pull his hand away. He examines his hand then shakes it several times.
DRAKE
Are you alright?
EXUN KAR
Yes.
Xar opens and closes his hand.
EXUN KAR
Now I know how Halfos felt.
Drake recalls the story Xar had shared about the prank.
DRAKE
The prank.
EXUN KAR
Yes.
Drake thinks then realizes there might be a chance to get the protosabers working and save the Lyteons.
DRAKE
Xar. Do you remember the part I used
to fix K3?
EXUN KAR
Yes. The light holder.
DRAKE
Bring me some and enough crystals to
repeat the prank.
EXUN KAR
Who are we tricking?
DRAKE
The Night Village if it works.
Xar nods then rushes out from the workshop as Drake works on the protosaber hilt.
