They say it might finally be over,
Is this our chance to start over?
Can I finally share a hug with someone,
Show them my smile, let them see my face,
Without hiding it behind a mask?
Can I finally visit loved ones,
Share a moment with my family, share a moment of cheer,
Without any fear?
Can I finally say with certainty
That this pandemic is through?
That no one else has to die,
No one else has to suffer,
No one else has to grieve,
No one else has to fear.
Is this pandemic finally over?
