today's update is heartflash-centric, heartflash being the relationship between wally west (the flash) and lark lennox (my original character, aka lovebird or the heartrender.) heartflash is the core ship of my stories witch burning and berenstein, with the former being the "main" incarnation of their relationship and the latter being a time-travel au. anyways, heartflash is one of my favourite oc/canon ships. there's just something about childhood!best-friends-to-lovers. something about soulmates, too.

lark is portrayed by jean grey/marvel girl in her lovebird identity and by madelyne pryor in her heartrender identity. wally is of course portrayed by wally 😭😭

witch burning variant #1. not much to say about this one. like yeah, that sure is the flash! that sure is wally west! that sure is the speedforce!

witch burning variant #2. does wallace west appear in wb? no. does barry allen really play that big of a role either? also no. are they both on this cover because i like the idea of lark/the heartrender being a legitimate flash-family rogue? yeah.

witch burning variant #3. this cover isn't really accurate either because the team depicted is the titans and not the team from young justice... wb is basically the same regardless of the team that lark and wally are in (all that changes are the relationships and who they're with, and the core ones, which are wally and lark, wally and dick, and lark and dick, stay the same anyway.) wb initially existed in a comic continuity (as opposed to the young justice one) but it was so much effort figuring out a timeline that i chose to go with the show's timeline instead. work smart not hard babes 💪💪

witch burning variant #4. this is very wandavision of me. i did feel slightly bad editing lark over the canon west-park family but this is meant to be in her little alternate reality anyway. maybe aashni and grayson lennox-west will be real someday.

witch burning variant #5. this one has dick on it, since i did make the executive decision for lark to pull a really shitty move in part 2 of wb and date dick despite dick being wally's best friend (other than lark, of course.) so this cover is the trio, messy as they are; it's dick and wally teaming up to take down lark, not from a place of hate but maybe from love? idk. something like that 😝😝

berenstein cover. berenstein only has this one comic cover because it focuses less on the superhero identities lark and wally have and more so on their relationship; therefore there's not really any reason for me to make covers with superheroes on them. (berenstein is also an au, so they never grew up together and lark never joined a team with him. so lark never even chose a superhero identity; the heartrender is just something she's referred to by me, in this continuity. i don't think she'll ever actually operate as that in this universe.)

in this cover i fixed up a few errors from the previous one, plus changed the type and removed some elements to make it match the dc covers i've made more recently.

crush variant cover #6? #7? i've made so many for this story i've actually lost count. anyways, this update is for heartflash as i said, but i didn't want to make a separate part just for this cover. this one is specifically inspired by a detective comics #1003 medieval variant. not much to say about this or crush, other than the year anniversary of me starting the story is coming up and we're still only on chapter, like, four. which is better than some of my other projects to be honest but debatable as to whether it actually counts as progress or not.
