welcome back everyone, it's literally been a week since i last updated this portfolio but i have been sick over the past few days so i've not really had anything to do but make graphics and binge television. there's no particular theme for this update, other than my (unspoken but now that i've said it, spoken) inability to stick to one project, graphic or otherwise, for a sustained period of time.
the title of this update has nothing to do with its content. kira simply mentioned jurassic park: dominion on the gc today + my family went and saw it + PUN!!! so.

first up, we have two covers from the cover set (currently in progress) that i'm making for one of my best friends, elysianfieid. these are the two so far that i'm proudest of; the first was inspired by the awesome numskulls!
i had fun making these covers! i've already made the interior graphics (moodboards, gifs, et cetera) for both of these fics but that was some time ago now so making the covers posed a fun challenge; how can i revamp both stories' covers while sticking to the original aesthetic? (and while using the same colouring! 😭😭) there's also the added challenge of the cover set; all the covers have to match or coordinate in some way.
i'm pretty happy with these two, and i can only hope they match the quality of the stories they were made for. with kira's talent, that's an extremely high standard to meet. please go check out both saviour complex and arcane; they are two incredibly unique and well-written riordanverse fics, and their author is one of the most amazing people i've met!!

moving onto some non-lotto covers! previously i made some comic covers for stxrmborn's amazing (hehe) spider-man fic, jawbreaker. this one, however, was a present!! vic originally requested jessica jones as her oc's comic faceclaim, but i ultimately went with dc's lois lane since she fit the vision i had for the covers. so this cover, i guess, is an attempt to work with vic's original request! i really like the simplicity of this cover; i also like how the colours turned out, with sloane's cool blue contrasting well with peter's deep red. i also like how the resources i used were both initially made with traditional mediums; putting them together gives a pulp fiction cover-type vibe, which i personally love.

more comic covers, but for me this time! 😈 this quartet of covers is for walls, my drafted john constantine/justice league dark project. i've always admired the art of hellblazer, and working with said art for these covers was genuinely really fun. the covers also (hopefully) set the tone for walls, for which i chose a brighter colour scheme than i thought i would. despite the story's (and the property it's based upon's) darker subject matter, i think the colour scheme works. i don't want to give away too much about the story (mostly because it's a mess LMFAOOO) but the colour scheme suits the vibe: quirky and, as my best friend forever puts it, "discordant".
(the upper left cover, the upper right, and the lower right are actually relevant to walls, while the lower left cover is just there for funsies; none of those characters will appear in the story except for maybe zatanna.)

these two covers are for my johnny storm/fantastic four fic, breathe you in. this won't be coming out anytime soon, but as per usual i decided to go ahead and make the graphics for the story before it's actually ready to be published. breathe you in is connected to my peter parker fic now you see me, so i need to reach a certain point in now you see me (read: actually introduce the oc that will become johnny's love interest!) before i can put out breathe you in! anyways, this story is a pretty fun one. not that my other stories aren't fun (???) but it's the fantastic four—insert something here about heroism, hope, knowledge, adventure, space.

this next comic cover features my own art 😎😎 this is a pin-up piece i drew for my dc original character, sierra, that i worked into a comic cover. i'm extremely proud of this one—mostly of the art, since that's the bulk of the cover. i spend so much time working with other people's art so working with my own was actually kind of weird. but definitely fun! fun fact: i've always wanted to work in the comic industry, initially as an illustrator but now as a writer (or maybe some kind of marketing/pr person?) ...anyway, that's why i'm so passionate about the comic covers i make. i can only hope that you guys can see that (and also my perfectionism LMAO) in every one that i churn out.
moving on. to comment on the art itself—the glove slaps. i've literally never drawn a glove before but i'm sitting here wondering if i should make a career out of it?
