this is another update which has no rhyme or reason. i'm just updating because i've made more graphics and i wanted to put them somewhere.

first of all, we have a cover set for my best friend, kira / elysianfieId whom i love very much. i have basically forced kj into letting me be her personal graphic designer, which is why you'll find that most of the incredible stories on their (if not all of them) profile have interior graphics made entirely by me.

kira wanted something new for her stories so i tried to get out of my comfort zone for these covers. i stayed away from my usual colours (as much as possible) and toyed with new fonts and styles. since i was making a cover set, i also wanted to keep things visually cohesive, which added an extra challenge. but in the end i did have fun and i feel like i've learned more about photoshop. you would be surprised how little i actually know about photoshop.

for kira i also made a silly little logo thing. one of my personal struggles with making covers is that i never know where to put the author name/username (byline?). so for these covers, with the exception of ctrl and newton's law, i whipped up a logo for kira to make my life easier. it's simple but fun!

we move on to graphics i've made for myself! here we have the regular cover for my new jason todd story, death kit, as well as its comic variant. both my jason todd stories (crush and of course death kit, the former being retired for the time being) have heavy themes of death and decay. this is reflected in the colour scheme: red and green. in comparison, crush's graphics are a lot heavier on the red than death kit's are, and death kit has much more green than crush does.

in death kit's interior graphics though, i leant more into blue for the main character, austen. even though the stories are similar thematically, i wanted to separate crush and death kit's protagonists from each other. for me, assigning colours is the easiest way to achieve this differentiation.

anyways! death kit is a simpler story and so its covers reflect that. i went for blocks of colour (or a lack thereof) and a consistent font choice throughout.

telomere time! telomere is a kyle rayner/green lantern fic i currently have drafted (but if all goes well, will have up soon!). the story itself has darker, more cosmic horror undertones but there are only so many modern resources available for kyle and my oc's faceclaim, raven darkholme—so i made do with what i had. again, green was emphasised in this cover. for reasons i imagine are obvious 😭😭

now ‼️‼️ for a cover i'm extremely proud of!! unspun!! i made this cover sometime last week while i was having a mini movie marathon with my love julia 😚😚 this one came about during our big hero 6 rewatch, which coincidentally inspired the premise of both unspun and its sister story, american animals.

i'm not quite sure how to describe this cover, but i certainly enjoyed making it. i had an original vision which got lost along the way, with the webs entangling "scout" and "peter" being the only remaining part of that vision. the webs were hand drawn, and took a few tries to get right. it's not important because on my profile the quality isn't high enough to see the detail, but while drawing the webs i kept changing brushes since there was a certain look i wanted.

i've spent a lot of time studying various spider-man artists and how they draw peter's webs; though i definitely couldn't give it my own spin (or should i say, [un]spun, ahahahahahahahahahahahah) to the extent i wanted to, i'm happy with how it turned out.

this cover comes in two versions; one that's predominantly black, the other that's predominantly red. i made a fun little gif to show the difference between the two.

anyways, thank you to julia for the encouragement for both the cover and the unspun/american animals duology itself. honestly the encouragement for everything. you are so positive and lovely and i'm so glad we're friends!!
