"What the." Julieta shouted. Bruno looked at julieta and screamed. He scouted to a corner and covered his eyes. "Its a long story." Mirabel replied. She hid the Agustin doll behind her back. "B-bruno is that you?" Julieta asked. Bruno was covering his face and shaking in the corner. "Yeah it is the real bruno." Mirabel replied. "He might be a little scared though." "Scared of what?" Julieta asked. "You." Mirabel replied. "Why?" Julieta asked worriedly. "A long story."Mirabel said. Julieta went to bruno and put her hand on his shoulder. He jumped a little. "Its ok." Julieta said lowering bruno's arms. "O MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EYES!!!"Julieta shouted surprised to see buttons instead of eyes. Bruno was more scared. He lost his eyesight and everything was black. I guess the you can only see in the other world with buttons eyes. "Dont yell mama you'll make him more scared." Mirabel said. Agustin was just standing in the door way trying to process what was going on. "Can we get them off of him?" Julieta asked. "Hopefully." Mirabel replied. "I can not see." Bruno said worryingly. "YOUR BLIND!"Mirabel yelled. Bruno was turning his head left,right,up and down frantically. He started breathing heavily. "Its ok." Julieta said. "AHHH it's her." Bruno screamed. "Who?" Julieta asked. "There's kind a monster thing pretending to be you in my tiny door." Mirabel replied. Julieta looked over and saw the tiny door. The whole family was trying to look in through the door way. Abuela push through Agustin to see what was going on. She covered her mouth when she saw bruno. "Brunito..." she whispered. She went over and hugged him tightly. "We should try to get the buttons off his eyes." Julieta said worryingly. "Your right." Mirabel replied. Julieta helped bruno get up and helped him walk. The family was shocked to see him and confused about his button eyes. They walked down the stairs and the family followed. They went to the kitchen and Julieta sat bruno on a chair. Bruno was worried, he could feel the eyes of people staring at him and he wasn't used to that anymore. Abuela was standing close to him and so was pepa. Julieta grabbed a empanada and scissors. "This is gonna hurt a little ok bruno." Julieta said. "Ok." Bruno whispered. Julieta cut the string that kept the buttons on his face pulled of the buttons. She pulled out one piece of string and bruno sqeeled. "Its ok I'm almost done." Julieta said. Bruno nodded. She pulled the rest of the strings out and handed bruno the empanada. Bruno hesitated to open his eyes afraid of what he might see. He opened his eyes and looked around. He saw his mother."mo-MOM." He shouted then hugged her. "Brunito." She said. Pepa and Julieta joined the hug. "What's that in your hand?" Agustin asked. "The other you." Mirabel replied with a cracked smile. The hug stopped. "What happened? Who did that to you?" Abuela asked. "Its hard to explain. " bruno replied. "I could help explain." Mirabel said. Abuela looked over at Mirabel. Mirabel noticed and got kinda worried. "Why should I, believe you this happened in your room. " abuela said angrily. "Dont be mad at her it's my fault." Bruno said. Abuela looked back at him with a surprised looked. Bruno had a very nervous expression. "Why is it your fault?" Julieta asked. "Remember when I found a tiny door in the basement and you we couldn't find it?"bruno asked. They nodded. "Well it appeared in my room and I went in it and i-" bruno couldn't think about how to explain the conversation between him and the other abuelo. "The reason I had buttons on my eyes was because I let the thing in that door sow them in." He said. "You what?! Why?" Pepa asked. Bruno looked at the floor. He hated it when he had to hurt his family members feelings. "It promised me something." Bruno replied. "What did it promise you?" Julieta asked calmly. "It would hurt your feelings if I said what it said."bruno said. It was silent for a moment. "What did it say?" Abuela asked sternly. "It promised me a better family." Bruno mumbled but loud enough that abuela, julieta and Pepa could hear. Abuela's eyes widened. She was suprised by what her son just said but she knew what he meant since she knew the way people thought about him. She always tried to understand that the future wasn't his fault but her anger and the village's got the best of her and she understood why he would disappear. "I understand." She whispered. Julieta nodded, she also understands why he would accept that offer she was the only one who completely understood that his visions weren't him choosing the future. Pepa was not so understanding and got a angry look. "BETTER FAMILY!! Are we not good enough for you!?!" Pepa shouted. A thunderstorm cloud appeared over her head. "Pepa calm down it's not what you think." Julieta said. "What did he mean then?" Pepa demanded. "A FAMILY THAT DIDNT BLAME ME WHEN BAD THING HAPPENED MRS. HURRICANE!!" Bruno shouted. He stood up. "You two calm down now o enferma te haré." Abuela said. Bruno sat back down and Pepas cloud disappeared. They starred at each other angerly. Then pepa remembered something she always tried to forget and suddenly got a sad feeling. "Bruno, I'm sorry I know what you mean now." Pepa said. Bruno could tell by the look on her face what she was thinking about so he also got a sad expression. "Are you thinking about that night?" He asked. Pepa nodded. "What night?" Abuela and Julieta asked at the same time. "Pueden irse?" Pepa asked. The family members that were standing in the doorway left except mirabel. "Mira you too." Julieta said. "I want to speak with you later." Abuela said to Mirabel. Mirabel nodded then headed to the nursery. "So what night are you to talking about?" Abuela asked. Bruno didnt know how to answer and pepa knew it was something bruno should say. The silence was so loud. Abuela put her hand on brunos shoulder. "It was the night pepa walked in on me trying to... trying to kill myself." bruno said. Abuela gasped and Julieta was shocked. Bruno looked away from abuela. Abuela burst into tears and hugged bruno. Julieta also started started to cry but wiped her tears. "Why didnt you tell me?" Abuela asked through tears. "I didnt think you'd understand." Bruno replied. Abuela stopped hugging bruno. "I need to leave the room for a moment." Abuela said. The triplets nodded and abuela left the room. She couldn't believe her son did that and she didn't even know. "This isn't what pedro died for" she thought which made her cry more. "He died so your kids could live and you drove one to suicide". She collapsed to the floor in tears. "Then drove him into the arms of some thing that promised him a better family." She was crying loudly. Now bruno felt bad for saying it but he knew it was gonna be said some time now. Abuela got up whipped her tears and went back into the room. "So what happened that night." Abuela asked. Bruno told his side of the story. I had a terrible day cause everyone was blaming for someone's death that I didn't even predict, someone even gave me a black eye and nearly broke my arm. I went to the basement since no one ever really goes down there. I accidentally cried myself to sleep and woke up it was night. I didn't feel any better after sleeping and then I had a bunch of memories coming back to me of days just like that one and felt so useless,  worthless and like a burden. Then I say some rope hanging on a shelf and I grabbed it and just held it in my hand imagine what the familie's and village's life would be like without me and the way my gift hurt everyone while everyone else's gift helped. So I tied a slip knot, grabbed a old chair and tied to the ceiling. I stood there on the chair with the rope around my neck building up the courage to kick the chair then pepa came down the basement stairs. I felt so scared that she was gonna yell at me but instead she quickly grabbed me and hugged me. I was confused on why she didnt yell at me but hugged me. I think she hugged me for a little while. Then she took me up stairs gave me a buñuelo and a few empanadas took me to my room and talked. He was finished telling his side. "You can tell your side now." Bruno said. Pepa nodded. I was walking around the casita, saw you go to the basement and I didnt think much of it but when julieta said dinner was ready and you weren't there. I thought maybe you weren't hungry and when I tried to go to sleep I couldn't cause I had a weird feeling so I went to the basement door. I stood there for a minute then I opened the door went down half the stairs and say you. I went into shock I couldn't believe what I was seeing I thought maybe I was dreaming. I went to you and a couldn't let go of you once I realized this was real life and you were gonna do that. There were so many thoughts in my head and the way the town treated you, the way I blamed you for my wedding, the way I yelled at you for telling Dolores her love wouldn't be hers, I regretted it all in that moment and wished I could take it all back. Then I remembered you didnt eat so I wanted to make sure you at since you were skinny enough anyway then I thought that maybe you were starving yourself or something. So I wanted to talk to you and apologize for what I did. So we went to your room, on the stairs and I apologize and promised to treat you better since it felt like I drove you to that. I just had to make sure you weren't hurting yourself. "I'm done now." Pepa said. "When was this?" Julieta asked. "A few days before I left." Bruno said. "I was so scared that that's what you did I wasn't able to save you." Pepa said sadly. Bruno got up and hugged her and pepa hugged him back. Abuela was shocked but she knew what she had to ask. "Did I drive you to it?" Abuela asked. Bruno wasn't ready for this question. Julieta looked at abuela worryingly. Bruno stopped hugging pepa. "A little." Bruno whispered. "I'm sorry for everything, I tried to understand that the future wasn't your fault but it was so hard with all the bad things going on that people were blaming you for." "I dont fully accept your apology but it's a start." Bruno said. He hugged abuela. "I'm so sorry your my son and i should have protected you." Abuela said. They all looked at each other. Meanwhile Mirabel was in her room with her sewing kit out fixing the other Agustin's wound. "There you go all better." She said. The plush agustin's frown turned to a smile. Mirabel was a little freaked out. "I guess you're still a little alive, so when the people inside my door come to the real world they turn into dolls." Mirabel said. The little Agustin nodded slightly. The real Agustin came in the room. "So you want to tell me what I walked in on earlier." He asked. "Well a in that tiny door I world were people dont care that I'm giftless and have button eyes for some reason." She replied. "I dont care that you dont have a gift." Agustin said. "What's that?" Agustin asked pointing at the tiny Agustin. "The you that was in the door." Mirabel replied. "So the people in there are dolls." Agustin said. "No, in there there look like normal human but once the come into the real world they turn into dolls." Mirabel replied. "I think I understand." Agustin said. There was silence. Mirabel put the Agustin plush on her nightstand.

She got up and left the room and Agustin followed. She went to the kitchen to see if abuela was ready to talk. She quickly noticed everyone was crying. "A-abuela are you ready to talk." Mirabel asked. Abuela walked up to her and hugged her. Mirabel was confused. "I'm so sorry for the way I treated you, you didnt choose to not have a gift." Abuela said. Mirabel hugged her back. "Thank you." Mirabel said. Mirabel shed a tear. They stopped hugging. The triplets whipped there tears. "So you want to explain what happened in your tiny door?" Julieta asked. "Maybe when dinners ready, I'm starving."Mirabel replied. The food in the door doesn't last long. "Oh your rights it's almost dinner time." Julieta said. She kissed mirabel's forehead. "I love you." She said. "I love you too mom." Mirabel said.
