Julieta started cooking. Mirabel was thinking of what to say. There wasn't much to say but a lot to explain, even things she couldn't explain herself. Bruno was also thinking of what to say. He was in there for ten years, Mirabel was in there for a day in a half. He couldn't think on how to explain the way the thing went from his dad to his sister. It didnt really look like it transformed more like the other Julieta appeared and the other Pedro disappeared. The thing was his dad had black buttons and julieta had gold. That change in color threw him off. The family was sitting at the table to talk. Then isa remembered something. "Mariano's proposal. I dont want to marry him." She said. "We should tell him and his mom then." Abuela said. Then there was a knock on the door. "I'll answer it." Dolores said. "No I will." Isa said. "I need to tell him." "There's something I want to tell him." Dolores replied. They both stood up. "What is it?" Felix asked seriously. "Bruno predicted my love, mariano would marry isa but now he wont and I can tell him my feelings." Dolores replied. Her and isa went to the door. "Hi mariano, theres something I want to tell you." Isa said. "What is it my love." He replied excitingly. "I'm breaking up with you." Isa said with a half smile. Mariano was shocked. His mom got a irritated look. "But Dolores has something to tell you too." Isa said worryingly. She pushed Dolores closer to mariano and kinda speed walked away. "Mariano I l-like you and i have for a while." She said scared of the way he might answer. He was still trying to process what isa had just said and what Dolores had just told him. "And I really like the poetry you write and you always make your mother proud and I really want you to notice me." She replied. Mariano was flattered by the peotry comment. "Dolores I see you." He said happily. "And I hear you." She replied excitingly. They walked of talking to each other. His mom was still suprised with isa breaking up with her son on their proposal day but somewhat happy he found another love so quickly. Isa was relieved that she didnt have to marry someone she didnt love. Luisa also had something to say. "Abuela could I maybe have less chores or a day off every once in a while." She said worryingly. "Whatever makes you feel better." Abuela replied. Luisa let out a sigh of relief. "Dinner is almost done." Julieta said. Bruno was getting more worried. Who would have to say how he really felt to explain why he said yes. Then Antonio came up to him. "Hi tio bruno." He said happily. "Who are you?" Bruno asked. "Oh my God you never met tonito." Pepa exclaimed. "Hes your nephew." "Oh um hi." Bruno replied. "Does anyone else want to say anything on their mind." Abuela said. "I would like to be myself more often." Camilo said. "I will love you no matter who you are." Abuela replied. Camilo smiled. Agustin a julieta brought out the food and sat it on the table. Mariano and Dolores came back and sat at the table. Everyone filled their plates. "So do you two want to tell us what happened in your door?" Julieta asked. Mirabel and bruno looked at each other. "I'll go first." Mirabel replied. She started telling her side. Well it was the day before Antonio's gift ceremony. I was thinking about what Dolores said when she told me how bruno disappeared and how the door he was pulled into had a M on it so I wanted to find it. So I went down to the basement to find the door since Dolores said that's were she saw it and I found it. When I opened it there was a long colorful tunnel. I went through the tunnel and when I got out I was in the basement. So I went up the stairs and when I opened the door everyone was there but they had button eyes which confused and creeped me out. I asked about it and I didnt get a clear answer. Then the one that looked like mama, who was standing closed to the door waiting for me. She told me how they were waiting for me. Then we started partying and then I saw tio bruno. We danced together then I got tired so the other mom tucked me in and I fell asleep. The next day I woke up in the normal casita. Told mama what happened. Ate breakfast. Looked in the basement for the tiny door but I couldn't find it down there but when I went to my room it was there so I went in it and when I got to the other side it was in my room there too. The other Julieta was waiting for me. She greeted me. I asked if I could talk with tio bruno alone. I asked him if he was the real tio and he said yes then the other julieta burst and then she took me to the dining room were she cooked a lot of food. We sat down. I was the only one who really ate anything. I was full so the other Julieta took me to my room to nap but I just I had a weird off feeling for some reason and I couldn't fall asleep because of it. So I got up and went to find the other Julieta and saw what she was doing to bruno and that she looked half moth half julieta. I asked what she was doing then bruno ran behind me. Then the other Agustin came beside me. Then the other julieta tried to attack us so we ran to my room. The other Agustin held the door close so me and bruno could get into the door and when the other julieta burst in she nearly chopped him in half but I grabbed his hand and dragged him through the tunnel but when we got through to the other side he turned into a doll and then the real mama and papa burst in and well then you guys can imagine. She was done telling her side. "Is that the real reason you looked for that door?" Abuela asked. Mirabel didnt want to answer. "Yes..." she replied. Everyone could tell she lied. It was pretty obvious there was another reason. "Do you want to tell your side now hijo?" Abuela asked. "NO." Bruno shouted. Abuela jumped. "I-i mean no." Bruno said with a normal volume. He just couldn't tell them. Were would he even start. They definitely want a reason on why he let that thing sow buttons in his eyes and he couldn't tell them that reason. Abuela put her arm on his shoulder. Bruno put his hood up to cover his face. "Can I tell my side tomorrow?" Bruno asked. "That's ok." Abuela replied. The others headed to their rooms but abuela, Julieta and Pepa stayed. It was quiet. No one new what to say. Bruno was angry at himself and everyone else. He was trying to think of a nice way of saying his reasons but all that came up was bad memories which just put him in a bad mood. "Maybe you could just tell us the reason you let it sow buttons?" Abuela suggested. "I let it sow the buttons cause it promised it wouldn't hurt me the way you and your villagers hurt me." Bruno replied. He figured he might as well be honest. Abuela took a deep breath then sighed. They all just stared at the table. His reason was valid and they knew that. Bruno stood up and started walking to the stairs. Abuela went after him. She grabbed his arm but bruno pushed her off. "Wait I just want to talk to you. Just tell me the truth." Abuela said starting to get teary eyed. "You want the truth? I'll tell you the truth. You weren't my mother the second I touched my door and got my gift. For forty five years you weren't my mother. For those ten years in that door I felt the love I was supposed to be getting from you. They didnt blame every bad thing on me. They didnt blame any deaths on me. They felt like more of a family then any of you did. And the reason I didnt want to tell you my side of that door is because I didnt want to hurt your feelings but then I realize when did you ever care about my feelings. So there's your truth that you wanted. Hope your happy with it!" Bruno yelled at abuela angrily. Abuela sobbed. Julieta and Pepa were holding her shoulders. Bruno stared at her then went up the stairs to his room. Abuela crumbled to the floor. She cant believe her son said that. If pedro could see her now what would he think. Her daughters helped her to her room. She layed down in her bed still crying. Bruno looked at all the stairs that lead to his cave. In those ten years he forgot what his real room looked like. Now that his anger was fading he kind of started regretting what he said but he knew it needed to be said sooner or later. He started climbing up the stairs. It took half an hour to get to the top and he was exhausted. He also remembered his real room didn't have a bed he layed down in the sand and drifted to sleep uncomfortably. Abuela also cried herself to sleep. In the morning everyone felt awkward. Dolores, her mom and tia since they heard what bruno said to abuela. Julieta felt awful. What if how bruno felt about mama was the same way mirabel felt about her. Agustin wanted to comfort her but she didn't want him to she just wanted to be left alone. Abuela, mirabel and bruno all just sat in their rooms thinking. Bruno started his descent down his stairs so he would be in time for breakfast. Abuela didn't feel like getting up. She didnt want to see her son after what he said even though she knows he was right. She did nothing to help him. She made him vulnerable to that things manipulation. The more she thought about the worse she felt. What other kinds of deals would he have taken if given the chance? She sat up on her bed and looked around. How did her daughters feel about her? Mirabel got up and got dressed. She didnt feel as bad as bruno but that doesn't mean she's in a happy mood. Bruno got to the bottom of the stairs which was kinda easier then going up. Pepa was waiting for him at the bottom. Bruno expected for her to be mad but she wasn't, she looked more worried. They both looked at each other. "Are you ok?" She asked. "I guess." Bruno replied. She hugged him tightly and then they left the room. Mirabel left her room and met her dad at by the stairs. Agustin was trying to act like he was happy but really he felt worried. "You doing ok mira?" He asked. Mirabel nodded. She was also worried. Everyone was worried. It all felt weird and sad. "Could I ask you something mira?" Agustin asked. "Yes papa." Mirabel replied. "If the thing ask to sow buttons in your eyes would you say yes or no?" Agustin asked. Mirabel waited to respond. She would say no and she knew that... but if that thing didn't attack her and bruno would she have said no if it asked. "No papa." She replied. Agustin could tell she was lying. "If theres any way I could be a better father to you, you can tell me." Agustin said with a worried look. "You a great dad, it not you that would make me say yes to that thing." Mirabel said. Agustin knows what she means by that. Everyone sat at the table to eat. It was quiet and awkward. Dolores was the only one in a happy mood since she was going on a date with mariano later. Pepa sat next to bruno. Julieta sat across from him. Abuela was still in her room. Bruno started to feel guilty seeing that alma was skipping breakfast. Suddenly a crash comes from Mirabel's room. Alma was first to get to the door. Mirabel opened the door. The Agustin doll was gone and there was a long deep scratch mark on the floor going from the dresser to the tiny door. The tiny door was wide open. "I'm going back in there." Mirabel said. "Not alone." Julieta and luisa said at the same time. "Yea" the rest of the family agreed. One by one they went in mirabel going first. The could hear a weird clicking noise. Bruno cracked the door open a little and peeked out.

A julieta moth monster. He closed the door carefully. By the terrifying expression on brunos face the family could tell they were in for something. They all looked at eachother, now realizing they didnt have a plan. The clicks got closer then stopped at the door. Bruno quietly moved away from the door. "Mira are you in there?" A distorted julieta voiced asked. Mirabel walked to the door and replied. "Si." Her head layed against the door. She didnt know what she was gonna do but she had to do something. "Can you open the door mira?" The voice asked happily. She looked back at her family. The surprisingly nodded ready for what ever was behind that door. They all had a good or somewhat good idea on what to do but abuela had her own. Mirabel opened the door. The other julieta looked around the room, saw the family and wasn't scared at all. It lowered its head down to mirabel's. "Now, what color buttons do you want?" It asked its voice sounding only a little bit more human then before. "Any color you want just dont hurt my family and take only me." Mirabel replied. "No you're taking me not her."abuela said. Mirabel turned around. "No." She said. "No." Abulea replied. "Its my fault this monster wants you it should take me." She said. "What did you say?" The other julieta asked surprised. "You're gonna take me not her abuela replied angrily. The other julieta felt to the ground lifelessly. The family was shocked by this. Then the candle appeared. Abuela walked towards it. The fire became huge then a picture of pedro appeared in it. "Papa." The triplets said under there breath. "Mi amor." Abuela whispered. The picture then became a translucent pedro almost as if he was a ghost but his only ghostly feature was being translucent. Everyone was speechless. Pedro grabbed abuela's face and kissed her. She grabbed his hand and cried. "It hurts see what your grief has done to you." Pedro said. "I didnt want to hurt our family." Abuela replied. "You're not the woman I fell in love with but is still love you." He said. He hugged her and she cried in her arms. He opened his arms wider to make room for his kids and the triplets joined the hug. The rest of the family hugged them. "I love all of you." Pedro and abuela said. Then in a flash of light they were back in the real casita everyone looked at eachother. Abuela whipped her tears. "I promise I'll try my best to make things better, mi familia." Abuela said. "Mi familia madrigal." Mirabel said. "Mi familia madrigal." The rest of the family said.
