Aurora Andromeda Black was left in the care of Remus Lupin, who, after consulting with Andromeda Tonks, Rory's godmother, took her in as though she were his own daughter. For the first thirteen years of her life, Rory only knew of her father through stories shared by Remus or Andromeda.
