(A/N: Was thinking of putting in some p.o.v's again, haven't in a while. Btw, I haven't decided on an actress who could play Mai-Lee yet...)
-----------------------
Logan's P.O.V:
"But dad, the tickets are booked for tomorrow, you can't expect us to get a ticket at such short notice, the plane will probably be booked for the next flight. I was hoping I could stay a bit...-"
"Logan, stop talking nonsense like that, you are coming home tonight, end of discussion. If you think you are staying a bit longer, then prepare for the worst boy!"
"Worst? What could be worst than coming home?"
"Do not take that tone with me! You're coming home, or else-, Prepare to have you credit card and monthly allowance cut if you stay. Let's see if you will be able to handle that, in a strange country, with no money and no job. You will come home begging like a hobo when I'm done with you!"
Logan was speechless, he hated when his father made things so hard for him. He wanted to stay in Japan so bad, but what would he do without the money his father gave him. He would have to get a job. Teaching wouldn't pay nearly enough to get him by, but it would only have been temporary, couldn't his dad understand that? Couldn't he understand that he would still go study to be a doctor after he was done? Guess not, his dad was a stubborn man who didn't understand reason. Sure his dad grew up in a fairly middle class family with just enough to get by, he also had odd jobs to save up to go to university, and got where he was today.
He would have to talk to his mom about the situation. Although they weren't married anymore, she was still the only one that could reason with his dad and convince him to agree to what his only son wanted. That would have to be it. But for now, he would have to head home with his stepbrother and think of this later.
He would miss Mai, but they would have to keep in contact on Skype or Facebook. He probably won't even be able to say goodbye properly thanks to his dad.
"Fine, I'll come home, but just to finish school. I have dreams too dad, just like you once had, don't expect me to just drop it."
"Dreams take you nowhere, you need more, dreams don't feed you. I think the military will be the best for you now, after school. You seriously need discipline."
"No! I'm not going to the military, not that I don't have huge respect for the people who defend our country, I just don't want to be part of it. Forget it."
"Credit card and allowance, keep that in mind while you fly home on that plane..."
His father hung up before Logan could say anything. He slammed the phone on the table. Sam entered the room and he could probably tell that something was wrong as he had a frown on his face, asking: "What was that about? Your dad pushing your buttons again?"
"If only he was pushing my buttons. We must fly home tonight, or else he is cutting my allowance and my credit card. And from nowhere, he is telling me, no, ordering me, to join the army next year, just because I need discipline and dreams don't pay the bills or feed. I am so angry at that man, sometimes I wonder if he is really my father."
"The army? You've got to be kidding! Wow. That's a first! Wait, did you say we must leave tonight? Damn it, I have to go tell Alex, then we got to pack. I'm hungry too, let's just go eat something, then you can call to find out if we can get a place on the next plane. Oh sh*t, what if we can't get a place?"
"Then it's goodbye good life.. He can't force me to do anything, I am going home anyway, he got what he wanted, like he always gets what he wants. But wait, I have a trick up my sleeve, he doesn't know it yet..."
