The warm air in Atlanta slowly cooled down as the fall season fell right around the corner. The first semester of college at Clark Atlanta was nearly ending and Abel couldn't be more than happy.

He faintly heard his alarm clock going off reminding him of the day full of classes ahead of him. He still dreaded going to class, doing work, and listening to his teachers, but he couldn't slack out now. He didn't leave Canada for nothing.

The only thing he looked forward to when heading on campus was his raunchy new group of friends. They had made him feel comfortable and that was something he'd forever be grateful for.

As the weeks went along, he found himself growing closer to the group and adapting to their lively, funny personalities. But he was most acquainted with Aura, Coiline, Camari, and surprisingly Landon. He found himself being around them the most.

Majority of his classes would be with Aura so that would be the only time he'd talk to her one on one. He'd meet up with everyone as a group and they'd start their smoke sessions while recapping what they've done for the day. Abel felt more relaxed than he'd ever felt at home. He felt like he didn't have to keep looking over his shoulder all of the time.

Everything, so far, was great for him. He knew he'd dread going back home for the holidays, which would be a month away.

He gently slapped his hand down on top of the alarm clock, silencing it instantly. He turned his head away from his nightstand mumbling to himself tiredly.

He was actually about to go right back to sleep, that is until his phone started blaring loudly. His eyes snapped open and a loud dramatic sigh escaped his lips.

"What the fuck," he blinked some more to rid his eyes of the blurriness.

Taking his phone in his hand, he squinted his eyes seeing a call incoming from one of his friends back home. Lammy ⛽💨 it read.

Swiftly rolling his eyes, he silenced his phone before deciding to get out of bed. The time read 7:45a.m so he only had a few minutes until his first class started.

While he ventured inside of his bathroom, his phone continued ringing a few more times before it abruptly stopped. He stood in the doorway of the bathroom with his toothbrush hanging out of his mouth in thought.

It wasn't his intentions to ignore his only friend back in Toronto, but so much had happened between them and he was still upset about things escalating so badly between them. Since Abel left, La Mar had been trying and trying to right his wrongs, but Abel wasn't sure if he was ready to forgive him yet. The shit that they got into was too extreme in his eyes for him to just forgive and forget.

He swiped his phone off of the bedsheets, checking his notifications seeing a few messages from his estranged friend, and from the group chat with his 'new' friends.
