1,5 weeks later
Ryder and pups were back on their job despite absence of Marshall. Mayor Goodway was a little bit surprised that they decided to work despite huge accident, but just like Chase said on their meet at Town Hall after helping her putting picture at Adventure Bay museum: "If we didn't rest too much, we would avoid this accident, we can't give ourselfes a rest even after this". Truly, the Police pup was very worried about Marshall and didn't want to let him down. Ryder and pups supported his decision, especially Everest, who was practicing with him and Rocky about how to use Marshalls' fire equipment and truck. Still, they remembered about doctors' words to call him 11 days later and these days were annoyingly long, or so Ryder and pups thought.
When evening of this 11th day after Marshalls' incident arrived, Ryder and pups were relaxing in Lookout. The boy tried to call doctor today twice, but got responded by "I'm busy right now". Pups started to worry that their friend was already dead, but then Ryder decided to make a call again - and it went successful.
Ryder: Hello?
Doctor: Ryder! Sorry for keeping you from news, I'm going to Lookout so I can tell you about Marshall!
Ryder: How's he?
Doctor: All about him I'll tell in Lookout, I'm almost here.
Ryder: Ok!
2 minutes later, doctor had arrived and met Ryder and pups, who were desperate to hear about analyzes, which could help with Marshalls' recovery much quicker.
Doctor: You can call me Lance if you want. So, about Marshall - he feels much better than before and his lungs are clear from toxic smoke, because sometimes he coughed a lot.
Everest: So his lungs were filled with smoke from that fire?
Doctor: Yup, but it solved.
Chase: What about fur?
Doctor: Now that's the most interesting part! At first we tried to something very unusual, thinking that it's a special disease on animals and we need to find a new cure.
Ryder: Buuuut?
Doctor: But it can be cured by much simplier thing than I thought.
Pups suddenly cheered, making doctor Lance and Ryder confused, but quickly realized that they were happy about cure - Marshall can be healed so he could go back on his daily life.
Ryder: So what's that cure?
Doctor: You'll be surprised - ice!!
Pups: Ice???
Doctor: Yeah! Ice is very cold and if you'll make this ice freezing, I mean, VERY cold, it can return ability of fur to balance temperature.
Everest: Can snow do the same?
Doctor: That's why we went to Jakes' mountain for this test. And answer is yes: it can!
After these words, Everest motioned Chase and Skye that they to come with her and the couple did so. As trip walked a little bit away from talk, Everest grinned wide.
Everest: I think I know how we can cure Marshall.
