I found him.

I found Leonardo.

I know you're thinking that I'm being dramatic over just one conversation, but when you connect with someone who understands you for the first time, it has a way of staying with you.

Plus, Leonardo looks good. That, I can't deny. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he thought it was his fault I said no to dinner. Little did he know, I was blaming myself too. Probably more than he blamed himself.

After we got each other's numbers and he told me that he'd text me, he was pretty adamant about me going home. Almost like the club wasn't safe for me anymore, but it was packed with those black men in suits, and he was wearing one too, so I definitely knew that he knew more than I did. Which is why I listened to him because I'm not one to judge anyone, especially someone looking out for my safety.

After I get in my car, I drive home with the biggest smile on my face. I am ecstatic about not only seeing Leonardo but having his number and going to dinner with him. Never thought I'd be a stalker, but I can officially say that it works. I am speeding home because I can't wait to tell Josh. I know he is going to be surprised because he didn't even know I was still pursuing Leonardo.

A couple of minutes later, I am home. I unlock my front door, kick off my heels and lock the door behind me. I start to make my way to my room as I facetime Josh. It is pretty late so I don't expect him to answer, but he surprisingly answers on the second ring.

"Hey, gir- wow you look so pretty!" He exclaims.

"Thank you josh and you will never guess what just happened," I say with a big smile on my face.

"I have a guess," he says while laughing which makes me laugh too. "But I won't steal your thunder so tell me," he continues.

"I found him, Josh," I start. "I found Leonardo and he thought that he messed up by asking me to dinner too soon, and I told him that he didn't. So I asked him to dinner and he said no at first. I was crushed and so embarrassed but he said I could have anyone wrapped around my finger, so he re-asked me to dinner," I exclaim. "Ugh, it was so nice and we exchanged numbers. I have his number, Josh."

"Not gonna lie, I was thinking you finally got some dick but this is so much better Iris. I'm so happy for you and I didn't even know you were still looking for him."

"I know, I know, but I wanted to find him first before I decided to tell you anything. I didn't just want to be the bearer of bad news, and ew you know I don't sleep with strangers."

"Yeah, yeah I know you."

"Alright well it's getting late so I'm gonna go get ready for bed," I said after yawning. I am exhausted from everything today. "I just had to tell you because I was going to explode if I didn't tell someone."

"Awww, am I the first person you told?" He coos.

"You're the only person I told,'' I answer.

"I feel so special and, good night boo," he says.

"You're very special to me Joshy and, good night to you too," I finally say before I hang up.

I decide to take a quick shower and do my skincare routine because sleep is calling my name. I put on "Family Guy" and finally relax after wrapping my hair. I am thinking about Leonardo while I start to drift off to sleep when I feel my phone vibrate. I pick up my phone and look at the message.
