Chapter 13

“Do you want to be that lucky person?” asked Felix with a look in his eyes that hyunjin couldn’t interpret the meaning of.

Although he was sure that he saw a glimmer of hope in Felix's eyes, he didn’t want to overreact on a trivial matter like this but even though Hyunjin tried to ignore the thoughts, he couldn’t help but be wary of Felix somehow. This led to him choking on his food and coughing incessantly. But due to this, Felix was brought out of his trance and he couldn’t believe what he had said just now.

“Hey, are you okay?” asked Felix while passing a glass of water for hyunjin to drink

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Answered hyunjin after he stopped coughing

“Why did you suddenly choke on your food?”

“Ahhh… It’s nothing, it just happened.” Said Hyunjin sheepishly while trying to avoid Felix’s gaze but he was unable to do so when Felix grabbed his chin and turned him around

“I am sure it wasn’t nothing. So, did my question have that effect on you, Mr. Hyunjin?” asked Felix with a smirk while he still held Hyunjin’s chin in between his fingers

“Ahhhh… I am done with my breakfast. I will be in my room. If you need anything then call for me. Actually no, don’t call for me. Just do anything you want or nothing at all, I don’t care. Bye.” Rambled Hyunjin before he dashed off into his room and closed the door behind him.

As soon as he closed the door, he was able to gather his thoughts but what he was still not sure of was the way he had acted just now. He was flustered over Felix’s question but the confusing thing was that he didn’t know why he was flustered over a simple joke. As all these thoughts came into his mind, he couldn’t help but wonder about Felix.

“It was a simple joke, wasn’t it? I am sure it was. It must be.” Mumbled Hyunjin

It was not for anyone else to hear but for him. He tried to say that just so that he could dispel the doubts in his mind and calm down a bit. And although all his efforts to stop thinking about that were futile, what he didn’t know was that Felix was fighting the same battle as him.

After Hyunjin dashed off into his room and closed the door, Felix plopped down on the dining chair and started pulling on his hair. He didn’t know why he had said what he said. Previously after he came back from that trance-like state, he had acted all confident and cocky just because he didn’t want Hyunjin to see him flustered but now that it was done, he didn’t know what else to do anymore.

So, he decided the best course of action was to ignore those thoughts for now and focus on something else to take his mind off of things.
It was now three hours after the breakfast incident which shouldn’t have been an incident in the first place. But due to the unchartered feelings going haywire, they both had acted suspiciously and that made the situation a lot more complicated than it should’ve been.

After Felix decided to take his mind off of things, he began watching Television in the living room. It had been three hours, yet Hyunjin hadn’t come out of his room even once and Felix didn’t dare to knock on his door due to the fear of saying anything unnecessary. Although the television was switched on in front of him, it was clear that Felix hadn’t been paying any attention at all to what was being shown.

He had been constantly taking a glance sideways towards Hyunjin’s door and even he didn’t know why he was doing it. But just as he was about to get off the couch and go back to his room, he heard the door open on his left side. Hyunjin had finally come out of his room.

“He… Hey.” Said Hyunjin in the most awkward tone ever. Even he slapped himself mentally for being this awkward around Felix.

But fortunately for him, Felix didn’t seem to mind anything and from the looks of it, he wasn’t awkward at all. But that was what hyunjin thought. For Felix, he was also having a hard time acting normal after he heard that awkward greeting from Hyunjin.

He had decided that he would act normally as he did with Hyunjin and that would eventually make Hyunjin less awkward. But what Felix didn’t understand was that even in that moment of awkwardness, he found Hyunjin a bit cute when he was acting so awkward and meek.

“Hey, what were you doing?” asked Felix trying his best to sound relaxed and normal

“Oh, I fell asleep again after looking through my phone for some time.” Said Hyunjin while scratching the back of his head which made it clear to Felix that he was feeling awkward

“So, did you have a good sleep?” asked Felix while smiling

“Yes, I did. By the way, what are you doing?” asked Hyunjin

“I was just watching something on the television.” Answered Felix

“You were watching that for the last three hours?” asked Hyunjin while raising his eyebrows

“Yes. Is anything wrong?” asked Felix as he couldn’t understand why Hyunjin had asked that question

“No, I don’t think it’s wrong or anything but watching a home shopping channel for three hours is quite concerning.” Answered Hyunjin

“What?” said Felix before diverting his attention to the television for the first time that day and that’s when it all made sense to him. He now knew why Hyunjin had been asking those questions.

Felix had been watching a home shopping channel for middle-aged people for the last three hours. For hyunjin, he found it weird that someone was watching that stuff for three hours but what Hyunjin was oblivious to was that Felix hadn’t been paying any attention to the channel in front of him. Felix’s undivided and unwavering attention had been on his door ever since he left the room.

“Ahhh… I wasn’t… I didn’t watch…” rambled Felix as he couldn’t find any excuse to defend himself but fortunately for him, he heard his phone ring at that exact moment.

He thought that now he would have an easy excuse to not say anything else about the matter but as soon as he took out the phone from his pant pockets and saw the Caller Id, he couldn’t help but display a large smile on his face. Felix then got off the couch and went outside the room into the garden to pick up the call.

He then proceeded to talk to that person for quite some time but Felix was unaware of the fact that Hyunjin had been watching him from the living room windows the whole time.
Who the hell is that person who can make him smile so brightly at a mere phone call? Why is he smiling that brightly? Who is he talking to? Why doesn’t he smile like that when he is talking to me? All these were the thoughts Hyunjin had been thinking about the whole time Felix was outside.

And even though he will never admit it, it was evident that Hyunjin was feeling a little jealous. This confused Hyunjin even more as he couldn’t figure out why he was feeling so but he was soon brought back to reality from his thoughts when he heard the front door open. Felix had finally completed his call.

“Who were you talking to for so long?” asked Hyunjin cautiously after Felix sat down on the sofa

“Oh, it’s no one you know.” Answered Felix shortly

“Even then, why can’t you tell me?” asked Hyunjin unknowingly making the same puppy face as the time he asked to go to the ice wonderland.

“It was my sister, Hyunjin. More specifically my older sister.” Answered Felix nonchalantly

“You also have a sister? Oh lord, I really don’t know anything about you at all.” Said Hyunjin

“Well, you never asked me so I didn’t tell you and it’s nothing interesting.” Said Felix but to Hyunjin it seemed like a try to change the topic

“But I want to know about your family. I don’t know anything about you or your family but you know everything about me. It’s not fair. So, tell me everything about you. I want to know you better.” demanded Hyunjin

“Fine, then let me tell you about my family.”
