"Meredith, what's hurting?" Ellis asked her five year old daughter
"Tummy" Meredith weakly whispered
"I think we should go to the hospital. Get your shoes on" Ellis instructed
"Wanna sleep" Meredith muttered
"Meredith, get in the car. Now!" Ellis scolded and the girl flinched
Meredith softly sobbed as she grabbed some flip flops, not wanting to bend down. She didn't bother to grab a jacket and slowly made her way over to the car where she got in
Ellis got in and didn't say anything more. She just clutched her stomach until they reached the hospital. She knew she had to be quiet and behave
"Meredith, damnit! Get out of the car!" Ellis scolded as the little girl was resting her head against the window
"Sorry" Meredith whispered and climbed out of the car
"Can someone bring me a wheelchair?" Ellis instructed
"Oh Ellis! Is she sick again?" Richard ran up to her
"Yes Richard.. I have no clue what to do anymore" Ellis whispered and lifted Meredith into the wheelchair an intern brought over
"Hey sweetie, I promise we'll find a way to help you" Richard smiled and kissed Meredith's head "What's bothering you the most, sweetie?"
"Tummy" Meredith whispered and a tear escaped her eye
"Let's get you to a bed so you can lay down a little bit. Me and mommy are staying with you" Richard promised her
"Thank you, Richard" Ellis sighed and nodded her head, watching how her love interest took care of her daughter
Richard had lifted Meredith into his arms and laid down with her, stroking his hand over her hair softly in a try to make her stop whimpering
"Shh, sweetie. I promise it will be okay" Richard kissed Meredith's head
...
They had been waiting for a while now. Meredith was finally asleep in Richard's arms as they had given her a bunch of pain meds to keep her comfortable
"Richard, I don't know what's wrong with her. Ever since she was born we've been running in and out of the hospital and I'm tired. My little baby must be tired" Ellis whimpered
Richard slowly stood up, places one more kiss onto Meredith's forehead and covered her with the blanket before he walked over to Ellis and held her in his arms
"I'm sorry, Ellis" He whispered "I'm gonna call Adele that I'm staying here tonight" He kissed Ellis' lips softly
"You don't have to" Ellis quietly said
"Ellis, I told you that me and Adele are gonna divorce, just give it time please" Richard sighed
"Hmm" Ellis nodded and watched as Richard left the room "Meredith, wake up!" She shook the girl awake
"Mommy?" She whimpered
"Here, eat this" Ellis shoveled a few pills down Meredith's throat and let the girl swallow them
Meredith was used to this by now. She never knew what her mother gave her but she didn't like it. She couldn't complain because otherwise her mother would get mad
"Hey sweetie, I see you're awake awake again" Dr Shepherd walked inside the room
"She woke up in pain" Ellis said concerned
"Can you tell me where it hurts the most?" Christopher asked the small girl
"Tummy" Meredith quietly whispered
"Meredith, sweetie.. Dr Shepherd wants you to show where it hurts" Ellis looked into Meredith's eyes
"Here" Meredith slowly moved her hand over her stomach
"I'm gonna examine you, okay?" Christopher asked and started doing what he had to do until Meredith was starting to get paler and even almost unresponsive "Meredith? Can you hear me?" He asked, concerned about the little girl
"Meredith?" Ellis gasped
"We need to find out what's wrong with her!" Christopher ordered and let a nurse take Ellis out of the room so she wouldn't have to see all of this
...
Meredith was laying down, her stuffed bunny clutches in her arms as she was whimpering
"Shh, sweetie" Richard whispered as he brushed his fingers through her hair
"Hurts" Meredith groaned in pain when someone knocked on the door, Dr Shepherd asked for her mother to go to the hallway
"We can't find anything weird but we wanna keep her here for observation" He explained "Her previous health issues are concerning to us so we wanna make sure we're doing the right thing. We're gonna take her up for scans" Christopher explained to Ellis
"My poor baby" Ellis whimpered "You need to help her. She needs to get the help she needs"
"We will, doctor Grey" He promised her "Maybe you should go inside and try to convince her to eat something" He suggested and she nodded
"Richard.." Ellis sighed "They wanna keep her here" Ellis sighed "Can you- Can you go get her stuff?"
"Of course, Ellis. Do you need anything?"
"Just some clean clothes" She nodded her head and waited until he had left "Sit up" Ellis instructed her daughter a bit too harsh causing the girl to jump up
"Mommy? I wanna go home" Meredith sighed
"No, Meredith! You're a very very sick girl and you have to stay here. Don't you remember you like the hospital? You like it here and I don't want you ever to complain again! You're getting treatment you need, treatment you deserve!" Ellis got angry at her
"Sorry" Meredith whimpered
"Now lay down, sick girls don't sit up and talk" Ellis said sternly and gave Meredith two more pills
Ellis watched as Meredith fell asleep. Richard had arrived back at the room and had braided Meredith's hair so it wouldn't tangle but then she woke up and started throwing up all over herself. One of the nurses, Carolyn, helped Richard to clean up Meredith. The girl kept shivering as she was developing a fever, Dr Shepherd quickly gave her some meds to get it down again
"It will be better soon, sweetie" Richard whispered and kissed Meredith's head "You and mommy deserve some easy weeks"
My 25th book, OMG! I can't believe it :o
This is a book that's been recommended for a while now but I never knew how to write this as this will be a pretty heavy emotional ride so I hope y'all are sticking around with me for this one as well.
I wanna thank all of you for reading my stories because I've been doing this for a little over a year now and I still can't imagine how weirdly amazing things have been since then. Thanks for reading, thanks for sending me story ideas and I hope all of you are doing okay and hopefully I'll make it to 50 stories once :p
