"Mommy, wake up!" Amelia tried to wake up Carolyn
"Amelia? What's wrong?" Carolyn frowned
"Mer's crying!" Amelia told her and pulled at her mother's hand
"I'm coming!" Carolyn jumped up on her feet and ran to Amelia's bedroom where she heard the blonde girl crying. "Hey Meredith, what's wrong?" She kneeled down next to her
"My tummy- It hurts" Meredith was completely freaking out
"It's okay. Do you want some meds to make you feel better?" Carolyn asked and watched Meredith's eyes go wide in fear
"N-No! No!" Meredith crawled away and hid underneath her blanket. By now Carolyn knew what was happening and she felt bad for the little girl
"Amy, can you wake up your dad and ask if he calls Richard to come over?" Carolyn asked
"But I don't want Meredith to go home!" Amelia whales
"Amy, please.." Carolyn begged and watched Amelia leave the room "Meredith honey, I won't hurt you. I'm here to help, can you show me where it hurts?" Carolyn asked but Meredith kept hidden underneath her blanket
"What's wrong?" Christopher walked in the room. "I called Richard, he's on his way."
"Meredith's tummy's hurting but she's scared.." Carolyn sadly replied
"Hey monkey, are you feeling unwell?" Christopher asked worriedly
"D-Daddy coming?" She sheepishly asked
"Yes, he'll be here in a bit. Do you wanna grab your stuffies and bag?" Carolyn asked
"K-Kay.." The girl sighed and revealed her head
"That's very brave of you, honey. I promise he'll be here soon, okay?" Carolyn softly smiled
Meredith slowly nodded her head but flinched as the doorbell rang
"That will be Richard, do you want him to come here?" Christopher asked and Meredith nodded again
So Christopher ran downstairs and brought Richard upstairs, giving him a briefing about what was up
"Hey honey. I heard you're not feeling well?" Richard entered the room
"D-Daddy!" Meredith smiled with a tear stained face
"Come here, let's give me a hug" Richard opened his arms and the girl tiredly climbed into them. "Did you have pain in your tummy?" He asked her
"Yes" She whimpered. "H-Hurts here" She pointed at her stomach
"Do you wanna go home?" Richard asked and she nodded her head
"Do you wanna keep us updated on how she's doing?" Carolyn asked Richard
"Of course" He nodded. "Let's go home, we'll see what's causing it, okay?"
"N-no med" She whispered
"We'll see what you'll need" Richard grabbed her bag
"Let me carry it" Christopher smiled and took Meredith's bag
"Mer, will you say goodbye to Amelia?" Richard asked
"B-Bye Amy" Meredith softly smiled
"Bye Mer. I hope you feel better soon" The girl said nervously
"She'll be coming over soon again." Richard promised
"Okay" Amelia smiled
"Go to bed honey. I'll walk Richard and Meredith out, I'll come back to tuck you in" Carolyn kissed her daughter's head and followed her husband, Richard and Meredith out
...
"M-My tummy.." Meredith whimpered on the couch
"Sweetie, don't you wanna try some tylenol?" Richard asked
"N-No!" Meredith whimpered
"Come on sweetie, you need something. I promise it will help you, it won't be like before" Richard tried
"Mommy said it would get better too" Meredith quietly muttered as she hid in her blankets
"I know, Mer. But your mommy was sick, she's getting help now and she won't ever make you sick again. No one will make you ever sick again, everyone just wants to help you." Richard tried
"I-I'm scared" Meredith whispered
"I know you are scared, I get it but why don't you try it? You'll see your tummy will hurt less" Richard tried to softly smile to assure her
"No" Meredith muttered
"Still a no if I make it really fun?" Richard playfully asked and watched Meredith frown
Richard grabbed her a yoghurt and spooned up a bit before placing the pill in it. He made an airplane sound and playfully tried to let her swallow it
Meredith shook her head and held her lips on top of eachother
"Mer honey. It will really help with your tummy ache" Richard tried until she lifted her hand in front of her mouth and threw up all over herself and in Richard's lap. He watched as Meredith's eyes went wide in fear
"S-Sorry!" Meredith whimpered
"It's okay, shh. It's okay" Richard stood up and wanted to clean her first, not wanting to take any risks of her getting sicker
"Hmm" Meredith groaned in his arms and threw up again, this time he could let her throw up in the toilet. She threw up a few more times before lifting her head while Richard held her hair out of her face
"Do you feel like throwing up again?" He asked and she shook her head, already feeling much better as her stomach was empty. "Let's get you in the tub so we can make you all clean again" Richard smiled and grabbed the shower head. He made sure the water was warm but not too warm and he washed away all the, now dried, vomit from her skin
"B-Better" Meredith nodded
"That's very good, monkey. See, no one's making you sicker" He cuddled her tight. "Do you wanna go lay down in bed? Tomorrow we can stop by at Amelia, maybe you two can play a little more or she can come over" Richard suggested as he helped the girl out of the tub, dried her off and changed her into pajamas
"S-Sleepy" Meredith whispered
"I know, monkey" Richard placed her down in his bed and wanted to step back but she tightened her grip on his shirt
"S-Stay" Meredith whispered
"I'm staying" He promised and wrapped his strong arms around the girl. "I love you. Amelia loves you, Carolyn and Christopher love you. So many people love you and no one will ever make you sick again and none of us will ever scare or hurt you" He whispered until the little girl had fallen asleep in his arms
