"I must find them Silviu, but I already find myself distracted by the man in the suit and his incessant family", Mara said as she walked with her hands inside her long black leather jacket walking alongside Silviu through the streets of New Orleans.

"Yes I understand that but to be fair you are the one who started the whole feud with them when you started killing their little vampire army", Silviu stated before putting his hands up in surrender when Mara turned her head to glare at him.

"There is some truth to that statement , however, their vampires attempted to kill me first", she replied matter of factly before turning and beginning her fast pace again.

"Well I don't really understand how you thought coming to a city full of supernatural creatures with superiority complexes was going to make your job any easier", Silviu said in a quiet snappy tone, the both of their gazes fixated on the ground as a vampire walked past them quickly.

"I'm none to pleased with my current situation either so do not mistake my urgency for excitement Silviu", Mara retorted, quickly looking behind her to see where the vampire from before had gone.

"Well arguing over it isn't doing either of us any good so why don't we just do what we originally came out here to do and then be done with it?", Silviu proposed, holding the door open for Mara as the two of them walked into a store clad with crystals and herbs.

"That sounds much more appealing, so yes I accept your offer Silviu, now, why don't we deal with the task currently at hand", she replied, a smirk making its way across Silviu's face as his eyes fell upon the woman sitting at a table in the corner of the small shop.

The both of them quickly made their way toward her, Silviu looking back and forth a few times to make sure that no one was around.

Placing two hands on the table, slowly leaning down to be at eye level with the lady at the table, her green eyes seemingly shining in the harsh sunlight of the New Orleans summer day.

"May I help you?", the woman whose name tag read Willow inquired with a raised brow and a small smile.

"Yes, I was wondering if you knew where I could find a man who answers to the name Marcel Gerard", Mara replied, though by the tone in her voice and her demeanor it was clear that she wasn't leaving without an answer.

Willow's mood changed entirely at this, her brows quickly coming together as she looked the woman in front of her up and down slowly with a look of annoyance on her face.

"What's it to you?", she retorted, an irritation clear in her tone as she rolled her eyes at the way Silviu glared at her from behind the woman in front of her in an attempt to intimidate her.

"Well you see, I've been having some issues with this man in question as of late and I would appreciate it if he'd stop his incessant attempts at stopping me from reaching my ultimate goal", Mara explained, slowly circling the table, the cold feeling of the tip of her nail dragging across Willow's shoulder present as ever, sending shivers down the woman's spine.

"Look lady I don't really care about whatever personal vendetta you have against Marcel but leave me out of it because unlike you I'm not stupid enough to do something that would certainly ensure my death", she answered, goosebumps clad on her skin as Mara continued to walk around her almost tauntingly.

"Oh Willow, if that were true then you and your coven wouldn't be trying to kill an unborn child simply because she's a threat to your narcissistic ideals that nobody should be able to beat you at your own game", Mara stated, glaring at the witch, a darkness to her eyes beginning to reveal itself as Willow began to subconsciously back up toward the wall.

"Well you se-", Willow started but was cut off by Mara as she held up a hand, stopping her from continuing.

"I may be incredibly strong, and I may have also attacked a plethora of people in the years that I have walked this Earth, but I will never, and you listen to this closely, never, hurt a child. You can go and tell your little witch friends this as well if you even live to make it back to that decrepit cemetery, if I find you plotting to hurt that baby again I will wreak havoc upon the entirety of New Orleans and that is something that you can hold me to for as long as I live", Mara said, her voice booming throughout the empty shop as the witch before her cowered in fear.

"I-I promise I won't do anything t-to hurt the child ever again", Willow begged, the two of her hands placed together tightly as looked up at the raven headed woman who towered above her.

"Now, I shall ask you this only one more time, and if you do not provide me with an answer you will never make it home tonight, where is Marcel Gerard",  she demanded, leaning down over the table, Willow able to feel her breath fanning across her lips as her emerald green eyes glared at her like ice cold daggers.

"He's usually at the french quarter, if he's not there right now I don't know where he is, witches are forbidden from using magic in this city, he's got a witch who can detect when other witches are using magic. Her names Davina, if you want me to be able to do a locator spell to find him you have to get rid of her", Willow said, an underlying intention in her last sentence that Mara picked up on immediately.

"Nice try but I will not be killing this child so that you can complete your disgusting ritual that is just a cover up for the fact that you murdered innocent young girls you absolutely vile woman. I will allow you this one pardon only because you've provided me with the information I need and you can pass along my message to the witches and all of the people in the supernatural community of New Orleans", she spoke lowly, Silviu backing up slowly, detecting the change in her demeanor.

"What message is that?", Willow asked, her lip quivering as cold sweat ran down her forehead.

"Do not wage a war against me because I will annihilate you and anybody else who dares to stand in the way of my objective", she replied before the lights went out and with a large gust of wind both her and Silviu where gone.

The feeling of sandpaper rolled around the inside of his throat was all he could think about as a loud cough resounded throughout his body, making him keel over as black liquid escaped his chapped lips.

"Elijah!", Haley yelled running over to him as she set down the book she had been reading, a worried look painted across her features as the sickly man below her continued to shudder under the weight of his own torturous existence.

"I'm fine... please return to your reading", Elijah said, gesturing to the book she had been reading which she had found in an old library in the basement of the plantation.

"I can't, not when you're struggling like this", Haley replied, an exasperated sigh escaping her lips.

"Haley, I cannot change the events that have already passed, but what I can do is make sure that for the remainder of my life that you and this baby are safe. Your being stressed about my well being is only serving to deter your health as well." Elijah said, coughs interrupting him throughout as he heaved once he finally finished the sentence.

Haley sighed knowing that she wouldn't be able to convince him to accept her help, picking up her book she turned and walked out of the room.

The ceiling of the room seemingly spins as Elijah stared at the same spot he had been for hours before that, thoughts racing in his minds making it impossible to think straight.

Why couldn't he just go with somebody else, why couldn't he just do as Klaus asked him too? Why couldn't he capture her and protect his niece?

Not one of these thoughts could be specifically focused upon, but unaware to Elijah the very woman who put him in this position was listening in on his mind at that very moment.

Contemplating, trying to figure out what I'm the hell she was feeling. For never in the thousands of years that she'd walked this earth had she experienced anything like this, and it filled her stomach with a sense of uneasiness.
