Mias POV:
I opened my eyes then, realising that I had no escape of this room and all of my suspicions about Laurie were correct.'I'm just making sure she's safe, dear.' I heard her say, taking the key from the door.
'Fuck I shoulda listened to her.' I heard Fez panic outside of the door.
'Shut up man, if she's asleep, you don't want to wake her up. Don't panic her.' Ashtray spat, knocking softly on the door.
I didn't reply, covering my mouth.
'She's asleep.' Ash whispered.
'I'm gonna need you to give me that key or I'm gonna just smash the door down.' Fezco said, trying to stay calm.
'She's worth a lot of money Fezco you're going to need more than that.' She chuckled.
'That's my fucking girl you've locked up in that room, you know we don't fuck with trafficking, ok, so please let her go.' I heard him beg.
'I can't, unfortunately.'
I heard a few little bangs on the door, before he tried to kick it down completely, leaving a few dents but not doing much.
'It's reinforced, Ashtray, you're not gonna manage anything.' She laughed.
'We came here because we trusted you.' Ashtray spat, kicking the door angrily once more.
The window in my room was locked, but I knew I'd be able to find a way out, and so I slowly climbed out of the bed and looked around the room for anything sharp. I grimaced at one of the needles on the floor, but picked it up, keeping my hands well away from the sharp end.
'Laurie we're doing all your dirty work for you, you know that?' Fez said, still trying to get the key back.
Meanwhile, I wiggled the needle into the lock, moving it around and trying to find a catch to unlock the window.
'Fezco you're not getting this key back, just go to sleep.' Laurie suggested, moving away from the door.
'I will kill you in your sleep.' Ashtray said, unapologetically, loading his gun.
I held my breath, listening for any movement or sound but Laurie still didn't seem to want to unlock the door.
When they continued to negotiate, I continued to wiggle the needle around in the lock, smiling when it made a loud click.
'What was that noise?' Laurie asked, tapping on the door.
I dropped the needle to the floor, locking the window again quickly and walking to sit back on the bed just as she walked into the room. She looked between me and the window, before going to grab the lock, giving it a pull. Once she was happy that I'd not found a way out, she nodded, heading back towards the open door.
She was stopped, however, in the doorway, by Fezco, who now had a gun to her head. Ashtray rushed past them both, smashing the lock completely from the window and opening it for me.
'You're gonna let us go, or I'll kill you.' Fezco said calmly, nodding slowly as Ashtray helped me out of the window.
'You don't know how much money that girl was going to get me, get us!' She seethed angrily, putting her hands up in defence.
'I don't give a fuck how much money she is worth to you.' Fezco spat, pushing the gun harder into her head.
Ashtray took me to the van and told me to wait, whilst he went to go and help Fezco. I sat, worriedly, watching the window, waiting for them. After a few moments, I was surprised to see two girls climb from the window, one of them
I recognised all too well. They both got into the back of the car, followed by Ashtray, who sat as far away from them as possible. After a few more minutes, Fezco ran from the building, jumping into the front seat and locking the doors instantly, grabbing my leg from the drivers side.
'I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you.' He muttered, starting the car and trying to talk under his breath.
I shook him off, more concerned about the company we had in our car.
'These were the girls in the other rooms, weren't they?' I asked ashtray calmly, turning around to get a better look at them.
'Good to see you again.' Faye said, smiling almost sincerely at me.
I smiled softly, still holding a grudge towards her betrayal but feeling sad for her. The other girl was also around the same age, and she'd not taken her eyes off of Fezco the entire time.
'What's your name?' I asked her kindly.
'Kate.' She responded, looking at me for just a second before looking down at the floor.
'How long we're you there?' I asked her.
'I'm not sure, a few months maybe.' She shrugged, almost not understanding the severity of the situation.
'We're gonna drop them off at the police station, Mia, it's not safe to let them stay with us.' Ashtray said, directing Fezco towards the police station.
'That's not fair, you're sending them right into another prison.' I sighed.
'They'll be looked after.' Fez assured me.
I kept my mouth firmly closed, as we pulled up in the carpark, Fezco getting out to say goodbye to them both. His interaction with Faye was short, as he too seemed to have not forgotten her betrayal with Mouse.
Kate wrapped her arms firmly around his neck and swayed him slightly, saying something in his ear to make him laugh. I looked in the opposite direction and waited for him to get back into the car, not looking at him once he had.
'What?' He said slowly, looking between mine and Ashtrays disgusted faces.
'Nothing romeo, just watching you and Juliet.' Ashtray shrugged, tapping his brother on the shoulder and telling him to drive.
Fezco didn't move, crossing his arms and looking at us both almost angrily.
'I saved your asses back there and you're gonna get mad that Kate wanted to say thank you?' He asked, raising his eyebrows.
I didn't respond, putting my feet up on the dashboard and looking up at the moon. Fez removed my feet and continued to look at me for an answer.
'I'm done with the drama, just take me home.' I sighed.
'Aye aye captain.' He responded, starting the car and heading towards home, where Rue was apparently staying.
'Is Rue here?' I asked nobody in particular, smiling softly at the sight of my home.
'Yes, not sure if she's high or not, but yes.' Ashtray responded.
'I need a shower, I feel dirty.' I grimaced, thinking back to the dirty bedsheets and smelly room.
'Have one tomorrow, it's literally the am.' Fezco said, wrapping an arm around me and walking with me inside.
'Not after tonight, I need one now.' I responded, heading towards my bathroom.
'Mia, waiting 7 more hours won't hurt you.' Fez insisted.
'I've been sleeping among drug needles and who knows what the fuck else, I want a shower!' I said, finally snapping.
'Welcome home!' Rue cheered, clapping sarcastically from the top of the stairs.
'Yay.' I said sarcastically, but being genuinely really relieved.
I locked myself in the bathroom and took a deep breath, before pulling out a few pills id stashed behind the shower. I needed one now more than ever.
