It's the next day and I'm writing in my journal in my room with the door open to hear my mom and Aunt Lee argueing. I sigh as I put my pencial and journal down to check what's up with them this time, when I got there Hank also walks in the kitchen
" leave her alone!" Hank shouted which made the two sisters face us, " what are you yelling at her for?"
I look at my auntie
" Aunt Lee?" I asked her for an explanation
" she wants to tell you two what a terrible person I am!" Aunt Lee explained as approaching us
" I have bent over backwards to be nice to you from the moment you walked in that door!" mom defended herself
" that's right, you are nice to me when you want something" Aunt Lee replied
" what are you talking about?" Hank asked his mom confused
" come on, Hank, you think Missy being nice to you all of a sudden because she... What, felt an urge?" Aunt Lee gestured to me
" what?" I questioned her surprised that I'm dragged in
" shut up" Hank shook his head disbelief
" come on, come on!" Aunt Lee stops Hank from leaving and pointed to my mom and I, " listen, did you ever get a birthday present from your Aunt Bessie and Missy?"
" I thought about my nephews, I thought about you all the time!" mom defended herself
" It's just--" I began but Aunt Lee cut me off
" how ' bout a card?" Aunt Lee asked her son, " did you ever got a card from them?"
" we were not close, we were-!"
" exactly!"I agreed and face Hank, " I didn't even know I have a cousin, let alone a fun one"
He looks at me but didn't say anything
" and did I ever say that you didn't speak to me for twenty years?!" Aunt Lee questioned her sister which made us turn to the two again
" you're supposed to take care of your family!" mom replied
" I took care of my family!" Aunt Lee shouted, " I raised two kids all by myself, never even heard from you people! Now I am finally getting my life together, nobody's gonna take it away from me!"
Aunt Lee than slammed the back door, I bit my lips and walk back to my room quietly of thinking what just happened
