I walked into my studio, and called my dad.

R: Hey son.
A: Hey dad.
R: Why so down?
A: Charlotte wants a prenup.
R: So she has more than you?
A: No.
R: Why does she want it?
A: She said that if anything happened to us she wanted that to be the standard for any woman period.
R: So, you're upset that she is protecting you?
A: I'm upset that she thinks we may not work.
R: She isn't saying you two won't work she just knows there is a possibility. Look at the gold diggers you have had. She is taking care of you.  I don't think she is in it for the money, son.
A: Thanks dad. I'm going to finish some work.  Love you.
R: Love you too.

I worked in my studio.
I was upset.
I heard a knock.

J: Hey.
A: Hey.
J: Claire wasn't my dad's first wife.
A: What?
J: He was married before.  His first wife knew about his trust fund.  She married him. His parents tried to make him get a prenup, but he was in love and didn't.  His parents had to protect him, so before they were married, our grandparents pulled all of it out and put it in their names.  She married him and cheated the whole time.  He had had enough and filed for divorce. She listed his trust, the house and the cars.  She wanted half of everything he was to inherit.  He is a boy and only child.  Our grandparent's attorney came into the courtroom with bills for rent and utilities.  Nothing was in our father's name. The court's ordered her to pay half the bills to our grandparents.  It isn't that she thinks it won't work, but more of a I love you not your money thing.
A: She never told me any of that.
J: Our grandparents are millionaires too.  They just don't spend a lot or have extravagant things.  They paid for everything but tuition in college.  I have a BS in art and a MBA. Charlotte has a masters in special education.
A: She is young for that?
J: She graduated at 16 and was already taking night classes. She has a hard time with social cues.
A: That makes a lot of sense now.
J: She probably doesn't realize that you are upset with her.
A: Probably not.
J: She is an amazing person.  We were in public one day and she just finished her first year teaching.  A kid as tall as her started throwing a fit.  He was throwing tables. His mom was crying. One of her friends was there, he is a police officer.  She grabbed a table cloth and sat down beside the kid on the sidewalk. They were both covered with, the table cloth.  I was waiting to pull her out of there. He calmed down.  She motioned for the mom. I heard her say. Now I think we can fly this plane. Will you help me?  Let's make sure mom is on board.  Mom, where is your car.  Please lead us.  She got the boy into the car.  He put his head set on.  She said goodbye.  The mom thanked her with tears in her eyes. Charlotte gave the mom her number.  Her police friend pulled her to the side and gave her a lecture about putting herself in danger.  She said he was over-stimulated and needed an out. Arresting him was not the answer and it would have caused further damage to him.  That is not his fault.
She apologized to everyone for making us late.
A: That's the girl I'm marrying and having kids with.
J: Yes.  That is my sister.  She thinks of everyone but herself.  She had a boyfriend in high school named Ben. This fucker made a bet as to how long it would take for him to have sex with her.  I heard about it.  He was 18 so I beat the shit out of him.  You're the first relationship she has had since.
A: She told me about that.
J: He made her call him Sir, and made her out to be a fucking joke.
A: She called me Sir for a few days.  I made her stop.  Do you know where he lives?
J: He lives in Utah.
A: I'm going to find him and beat his ass.
J: It was a long time ago.
A: I bet he remembers.

J left.  I heard a knock at the door.
