It's 5 in the morning nang magising ako para magready for my first day. Nga pala nung isang linggo pa ako nakapag enroll sa Ateneo at ngayon ang 1st day ko. Kahapon din, Tony called me saying mamayang hapon, after class, yung tryouts ko sa basketball. Tony also said na kapag maganda daw ang performance ko kapag matanggap ako ay maaaring makakuha ako ng scholarship.
If papa didn't left us first, edi sana hindi ako nagpapakabuang para sa scholarship. I am so tired but I have to work hard for my mama and my sister. They are so precious to me and I can't afford to see them suffer. Therese also got in Ateneo. She aced the admission test and is a candidate for San Ignacio de Loyola Merit Scholarship which is only given to those 10 best applicants from public and science high schools and that's a piece of good news because that only means less bayaran. Kidding aside, nag-aayos na kami ngayon ni Therese kasi sabay kaming pupunta sa campus.
It's currently 5:47 am and we have to go to school na kasi baka traffic na mamayang 6 dahil lunes ngayon. Our family is still very blessed since may bahay pala si mama dito sa Antipolo, kung saan kami nakatira ngayon, at may naitabi palang pera si mama na dinagdagan din ng mga kapatid nya pambili ng sasakyan for us, para hindi kami mahirapan sa daily gawain namin ni Therese. While mom is staying at home planning on how to begin again para sa business naming natigil dahil sa pagsusugal ni papa. While I am driving, biglang nagsalita si Therese.
"Kuya, kasi si Coach, napili ako sa team pero pang-15. Kuya, i'm kinda scared, what if tanggalin ako since 14 lang naman yung kailangan sa team?" sabi niya habang naka tingin sa labas ng bintana ng sasakyan. She sounded nervous... and sad.
"Whatever the results, Therese. We are more than proud of you. And besides, you have scholarship naman, which is a big help for our family. Don't worry, sis. I got you, we got you. Just do your best para di ka matanggal sa team. It won't make you a less of a person hindi ka makuha sa team." I said, encouraging her. Therese, she is a good daughter and sister. I'm just sad she had to go through all of this at a very young age. This made me wanna protect her even more. Okay na ako kung masaya sila ni mama.
We arrived at the university.
Napakalaki nga ng school na ito. No wonder napaka-mahal ng tuition fee.
