A/n: When a dialogue is shown like this: "[hi!]", it means it is in another language and translated to English since it's most likely a conversation happening between two people. The language is most likely French unless said so.

"Polly!" Thomas (Randolph) called. "Could you put the kettle on? We have guests!"

"Sure, pops." The redhead marked her book and sped off to the kitchen.

Tuckahoe was a beautiful house. It wasn't fancy on anything; it was more rustic, like a house in the countryside you rent for a weekend that's next to the woods. Everything was wooden and crochet beautifully. The hearth gave out a homely warmth, and everything smelt like wood and cinnamon.

Children were scattered around the house. Two girls, a blonde and a redhead embroidered next to the fireplace, happily chatting. A light brunette read a story to a little girl with curly blonde hair. Two amber-haired teens, a girl and a boy, discussed who-knows-what as they walked down the stairs. A young golden-haired girl read a book, as she was curled up in a blanket, close to the fireplace. A little copper-haired girl chased a strawberry blonde-haired boy around the house.

Patsy smiled. Seeing her future husband's house, she already liked him. This was how she liked things.

"It's not much," said Thomas (Randolph). "But it's home."

"It's beautiful," Patsy breathed mesmerised.

"Children!" Thomas called. "Roll call!"

The children all rushed to their places, from oldest, to youngest. There was a spot missing between the first two, and the fourth.

"I'm Mary Jane, I'm twenty-seven, and I'm not a child," Polly (Randolph) said.

"I'm Rachel, I'm twenty-five, and I'm not a child either," said the girl who was reading to the baby earlier.

"I'm William, I'm nineteen, and I'm single." The amber-haired boy winked at Patsy.

The girl beside him nudged him. "Please excuse my brother. I'm Judith, I'm seventeen, and I love your dress," the ginger-haired girl told Polly (Jefferson).

"Thank you," said Polly (Jefferson).

"I'm Mary Jane, I'm sixteen, and I'm in love with fictional men," said the amber-haired girl who was discussing with William earlier.

"I'm Anne Cary, I'm fifteen, and you can call me Nancy," said the dirty blonde girl who was embroidering earlier.

"I'm Jane Cary, I'm thirteen, and I love any kind of Mythology," said the golden-haired girl who was reading by the fireplace.

"Oh, my God, same!" said Patsy.

Jane Cary smiled.

"I'm John, I just turned ten, and I like Mac 'n Cheese," said the strawberry blonde boy who was being chased.

Thomas (Jefferson) cheered silently.

The copper-haired girl who was chasing John hesitated. "I'm Harriet, I'm gonna turn six in November, and John likes to eat my sweets."

"I do not!" John defended.

"Yes, you do!" Harriet accused.

The remaining little girl with curly blonde hair tapped her foot on the ground, causing them to shut up.

"That's Virginia," said John.

Virginia nodded. Then she held up three fingers.

"I'm guessing you're three?" Patsy said to the little girl, as she knelt.
