You and Tanjiro walked while a woman answered his question.
"If you want to go to Mount Sagiri, you'll have to cross over that mountain but.. The sun's about to set. Are you really heading there with all that luggage ? With your partner too. it's dangerous, you know.."
You both stopped and stared at the woman.
"P..partner ?!" Tanjiro shouted with a bright red face.
You looked at the woman with wide eyes.
"Partner.."
You hid your face between your hands.
"Th-This is a misunderstanding ! This isn't my partner..! She's..a friend !"
"Oh my ! I'm very sorry for assuming things !" She chuckled and bowed.
"Ah..well..anyways, we'll be careful" Tanjiro bowed, "thank you very much"
You smiled and bowed and then walked away with Tanjiro.
The woman looked at the duo with a worried face.
"P..people have gone missing lately ! Try not to lose your way !"
You and Tanjiro only waved at her with a smile.
Timeskip
It was night, Nezuko walked between you two.
"Oh ! There's a temple over there !"
He looked at you and then at Nezuko.
"There's light leaking through, so someone must be there. Let's check it out !"
Tanjiro's eyes widened as he looked around and then back at the temple.
"I smell blood..!"
