Peek-a-boo

Peek-a-boo
I see you
In the trees, the moon, the sky, the ruin
At the brink of the day, at the mystic dawn
The blankets sulk, because they don't keep me warm
For they know I find that comfort in your charm

I see you
In the meadows, the prairies, the lagoons, the lakes
In the rainy days, the wrenching sun
The dreams tell me not to sleep
For they're tired of holding you in every clip

I see you
In the murals, the constellations, the buoyancy of the ocean
When the predicament hits, the joviality reflects
Called me the birds, O' silly girl
When your presence made me dance and twirl

In the midst of the night
I wake up
Thinking to myself, am I haunted?
The blankets, the dreams, the birds play out their cacophonous track in refrain
"You're you no more,
jumbled is your mind,
lost is your soul,
wait till the day
when you're no less than a ghoul"

I rushed off the bed in tremor
In the heart of the hall, I lost my armour
I glanced at the mirror, for it wasn't itself
There was a sight but not of the self
Wasn't a single breath in purview
When,
The mirror echoed
Peek-a-boo
I see you.
