5. the next black widow

   The bus was landed, Skye and Coulson were back. I believe Skye was emptying out her van. Ward, Coulson and I were walking into the comms room.

"Skye? The girl's not qualified to be a S.H.I.E.D. agent." Ward protests to Coulson

"Agreed. That's why I've invited her on as a consultant" Coulson tells us and May walks in "S.H.I.E.L.D. does it all the time. Technically, Stark's a consultant." He adds

"And technically, Skye's a member of the Rising Tide. She hacked our RSA implementation." Ward tells him

"Twice" I say crossing my arms together "From a laptop" I add in, I was impressed at her skills

"And imagine what she'll do with our resources." Coulson looks at May and starts looking at the table that has different data and information on it

"I am. That's exactly what I'm imagining during this frown. You brought me on for risk assessment? She's a risk." Ward pauses "She doesn't think like us" He says in a lower tone. I thought that was a good thing.

"Exactly." He looks at the screen

It was silent for a moment as Coulson looks at his ipad. "We have two kids on this bus who aren't cleared for combat. You're adding a third" This was the first time May had talked since being in the room with us

"At least Fitz-Simmons are trained S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists but Skye?" Ward pulls his hands on the table "You said this was a select team assembled to work new cases, to protect people. I don't see how letting some hacker tag along-"

"I'm looking for an objection I haven't already anticipated. I'm calling this, but your frown will be on record." Coulson cuts Ward off, I wouldn't mind having Skye on the team. The agency was even pushy when Clint thought I should join. She didn't seem too bad and if she was, I knew we could handle her.

"We've been called in to investigate an 084" I say, my arms still crossed. Just wanting to change the subject.

"We all know what that means." Ward says

"Yes, we do. It means we don't know what that means." Coulson says handing May the iPad.

Coulson and Ward walk off so I decide to go to my bunk as we take off, we were going to Peru. I pick up the one bag that I haven't unpacked yet and pull out the photo of Nat and I, we haven't talked since I joined S.H.I.E.L.D. Her and Clint thought it would be for the best, I don't really see how but I trust them.

We've land and all of us got into the cars. It was a long drive to the Incan Archaeological site, it was located in Llactalata, Peru.

We get out of the car "Tire tracks 40 meters back. I'll check them against the site's trucks. Make sure we're alone." Ward says as he closes the car door

"I'll go with you" I tell him, he just nods at me but I know he wants to do it alone

"Too much exposure here. I'm gonna find a place to park" May says as she's hanging out the door and going back in

It was hot, dusty and there was animals chirping. Ward and I walked away from the site, just checking to see if the tire tracks were the same. We were silent for awhile until Ward decides to speak "How do you feel about Skye maybe joining the team? He's still looking around "You were pretty quiet when we were talking about it" He adds

"Honestly I don't mind as much as you and May do" I say looking at him 

"Why is that?" He looks at me for a second and back in front of him

"She has skills no matter how she uses them. She can be trained to do what's good with them though especially with the team we have, I know. S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't too happy when I was put on." I tell Ward as we continue to walk further from the site on opposite sides of the road
