We had all fanned out, Skye and I went to our bunks, Fitz-Simmons stayed in the lab and I don't know where Ward went.

I lay on my bed and couldn't stop thinking about what Ward had said so I go and find him, so I can ask about it. I get up and walk to his bunk, he wasn't there. I walk out of the bunk area, I see him reading a book on the couch so I go to the fridge and grab two beers, two of Reyes' men were playing a game of cards on the other side of the lounge.

"What are you reading?" I ask Ward standing there

"Matterhorn. One of 100 books my S.O gave me that I'm just getting around to." He looks up at me and back down to the book

"Is it any good?" I ask still standing in front of him

"I'll tell you when I get more into it" He holds up the book showing me he hadn't really made progress on it "Do you need something?" He asks shortly after

"Yeah, Can I buy you a drink?" I hold the two beers up and shaking them a little, he chuckles and motions for me to come sit and I do on the table in front of him

"When we met you weren't the talkative type, I understood that. It's pretty easy to run into people with you. Earlier today when we talked I was taken back, you said I was impressive. I said I would never believe that you, Grant Ward would say I was impressive and you said nothing back to me, I thought I had upset you and just a little bit ago you stood up for me, why? I've been trying to read you since that first day." I finish, He just stares at me for a moment thinking

"I can't understand Fitz-Simmons or Skye and half the time not even Coulson but you I can. I like you, Lynn and it's different for me. We're the same. I do think you're impressive and I want to work with you. I'm sorry for calling you a widow. I heard what you said. Why don't you like being called that?" He asks me

I was surprised at what he had just told me, he wants to work with me but I didn't want to answer the last question but I think of something to say, even if it's not the truth "Natasha Romanoff is a widow. The black widow, we all know but what we don't know is the trauma and torture those women, those little girls had to go through. I don't think it's right for me to be called that, I know nothing of their pain." I say lying, my accent slips through and I know he heard it, he just stares at me, there was no point on hiding the accent anymore

"I don't think that's true, Lynn" He says and takes a drink

That made me freeze, What did he mean? Did he know? I didn't want to tell him anything so I change the subject "Are we on first name bases now?" I ask chuckling

"I think we are" He says joining me in laughing, we stayed quiet as I take a slip of my drink and I notice a red stain on the white shirt shirt he's wearing

"You got shot" I say, not really in a question or statement form

"Skin-deep, nothing to worry about." He tells me and sits his drink down

"No wonder you were so pissed" I say laughing

"I wasn't pissed. I was trained to be the whole solution. To eliminate variables and today, they keep adding up" Ward looks over at Reyes' men

"You don't have to be the whole solution, just a part of it. You and I were trained the same way, I understand where you're coming from but they don't. What we do and want they do is completely different, we need them and they need us. We're a team now." I tell him and he's still staring at the men, I pick up on this but stay facing him

"Even if we don't understand them" He looks back over to me. Something was off. I look over at Reyes' men like Ward was just doing. I stare at them and I notices their cups, they haven't took one sip of it and they've been sitting there for a couple of hours "Grant, hand me another bottle." I tell him
