Cori'iana Sanandrassa counted on the stars for guidance, for strength, and for sound peace of mind. The former queen of Naboo considered her life to be of service to her people even after her reign had ended. When her parents were killed several weeks into her reign during an assassination attempt on her life it was a Jedi who had helped her find meaning in it all and that there could be joy in a life of service. So when Queen Padme Amidala offers Cori'iana the position of Counselor to the Queen, Cori'iana can think of nothing better to do with her life. Not that her grandmother agrees.
Dordirri'ih Sanandrassa, also a former queen of Naboo and grandmother to Cori'iana,wishes her granddaughter would stop trying to please those that aren't blood and settle down. Or at least settle down enough to follow the plan Dordirri'ih has dictated for Cori'iana's future. With her grandson Kodo having disappeared from Naboo in the dark of the night, she needs someone else's life in which to meddle to give her purpose.
But everything seems to change when Queen Amidala and her circle find themselves on the run from the Trade Delegation with two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. One of those very Jedi, Obi-Wan, is the very person that helped guide Cori'iana following the deaths of her parents and happens to be the person she trusts most in her life. Obi-Wan is the one person with whom Cori'iana feels completely safe.
While Cori'iana and Obi-Wan flirteda bit during his time on Naboo protecting her from further assassination attempts, both knew that forming a connection was strictly forbidden. But knowing that didn't stop either of their hearts from yearning for the other.
After being stranded on Tatooine, Cori'iana and Obi-Wan are forced to remain with the ship while Qui-Gon and Padme set out to find the part to fix their ship. Their time together seems to rekindle the flame between them. A flame that never fully died for either one of them. Knowing that a relationship in the open would still be forbidden, they must find ways to dance around others without raising suspicion.
But one is never safe for long when on the run. Not only is a Sith Lord after them, but it also seems the assassin that has repeatedly tried to take Cori'iana's life is back with a vengeance. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon soon realize that keeping two queens alive is much more difficult than one, especially when one once-trusted ally betrays them.
