Chapter 6 - the dance
The baroness suggested that we throw a party for her of something
So now me and the other children stood outside watching the beautiful dressed people dancing around.
"Hey Ophelia, come here, pretend that your dancing with someone" Liesl said dragging me to the middle
"Um how?" I asked
"Just picture a guy in a nice suit is asking you to dance" she said
We started dancing around, it may have looked stupid, but it was fun
"What are you doing?" Brigitta asked Liesl
"We're dancing alone" Liesl answered
"Well you are at least" Brigitta said to Liesl while pointing over at me
I felt someone tap me on my shoulder, it was Friedrich
"May I have this dance?" He said while bowing
"Of course" I said taking his hand
We started dancing around while everyone were watching, it was amazing, we locked eyes while dancing, of course my face was red.
"Why didn't you children tell me you could dance?" Maria's voice appeared
"We were afraid you'd make us all dance together, the von Trapp family dancers" Kurt said while doing a little spin, causing us all to laugh
"What's that their playing?" Gretl asked
"It's the Ländler, it's an Austrian folk dance" Maria said
"Show me" Kurt said
"Oh, Kurt I haven't danced that since I was a little girl" Maria said with a sigh
"Oh please Maria, you taught me, you can't have forgotten it already" I said with a smirk
"All right, come over here" she told Kurt
To be honest Kurt wasn't very good, but then the captain came and took over. I saw how they looked at each other, Maria looked so I love, but she wouldn't do that, right?
Then the baroness came out and watched them dance together, her face wasn't happy to say the least.
"I- I don't remember anymore" Maria stuttered
"Your face is all red" Brigitta said
"Is it?" Maria said touching her face "I don't suppose I'm used to dancing" she smiled
"That was beautifully done" the baroness said walking over to the captain, we all followed
"What a lovely couple you'd make" she said
"Yes, I think it's time the children says goodnight" the Captain said
Yes, we'll be in the hall in a moment. We've got something very special prepared" Maria said and brought us inside
