The sun set on the horizon, bringing the moon, dark sky and stars to grace the beautiful sky, and dinnertime followed normally between the Straw Hats, everything happening as it always did every night.
They gathered in the kitchen, settling into their seats while Sanji brought the food, that is, the women's food, while the men's he practically threw at them and left them to get the food themselves. And the table full of desserts, side dishes and fruits.
Everything was going well, Luffy and (Y/n) sat together at the table, as usual, being typical of the crew couple. She greeted him and kissed his cheek shortly after turning her attention to her plate. Luffy chuckled at her display of affection but also soon returned his attention to his plate, and filling it even more with the meat that was on the table.
Everything was going well, until Luffy decided to open his mouth.
"(Y/n)."
"Hm?"
"Will you marry me?"
Everyone, except for Robin but she was also kind of surprised, spit out what they had in their mouth. Some spat so hard they fell off their chairs. (Usopp, Jinbei and Chopper-)
"WHAT!?" Everyone yelled in unison as Luffy ate carefree and totally oblivious to the mess he'd caused. " 'What' what, guys?" Luffy asked genuinely confused, "What kind of question was that!? And why so suddenly!?" Zoro questioned, "Luffy, you shitty captain! How dare you ask for the beautiful lady (Y/n)'s hand in marriage!? And yet in such a vulgar way!" Sanji protested.
"That was surprising, Luffy-kun." Jinbei said, "Luffy! You can't just ask (Y/n) to marry you like that!" Nami complained, "Eh? But why?" Luffy asked. "That's so manly of you, Luffy!" Franky said while crying rivers of tears, "YOHOHOHOOO my heart is jumping for joy even though I don't have one." Brook laughed at his own joke.
"Is Luffy getting married? This is awesome!" Chopper exclaimed, "Wait, wait, wait! I haven't even given the answer yet!" (Y/n) said, "Seriously Luffy, what was that all of a sudden? And why?" (Y/n) sighed. "In town I saw a guy propose to his girlfriend so I thought I might as well ask you to marry me!" Luffy smiled, "So you accept?" Luffy asked. "W-well-" "Answer the question, (Y/n)."
"Yes, Luffy, I accept-" "YAY!" (Y/n) barely had time to finish her sentence before Luffy hugged her tightly, rubbing his cheek against hers. "Hey Sanji! We need to have a feast in celebration of our wedding!" Luffy ordered. "Hey wait, Luffy! That's not how marriage works!" Sanji exclaimed.
"Sanji is right, Luffy. Weddings aren't like that!" Usopp said, "There's a whole party plan, food, clothes, and by the way, you don't even have a wedding ring!" Usopp exclaimed, "Hm? Aren't weddings just food parties?" Luffy asked, "No!" Usopp replied.
"I don't know what you're talking about, I just want to marry (Y/n) because I love her! And I want to have a feast too." Luffy said pouting, as he pulled (Y/n) towards him, placing her sitting on his thigh. "I just want to be with her!" Luffy wrapped his arms around her waist, "Besides, I'm sure (Y/n) is okay with that, right?" Luffy asked.
(Y/n) just sighed softly and kissed the top of Luffy's head, "Yes I am. I'm not against the idea of marrying you. And guys, Luffy's already decided, there's nothing that's going to make him change his mind." At that, Luffy laughed.
"So it's decided! Me and (Y/n) are married and we're having a big party tomorrow!" Luffy exclaimed.
"Luffy, you first need to make this union official with a kiss." Robin said, smirking, "Oooh you're right, Robin!" Luffy said.
Luffy wasted no time in bringing (Y/n) closer and gently pressing his lips to hers in a passionate kiss.
"There, now we're married!"

I'm sure it wasn't what you expected, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway. Luffy is not a traditional man so I find it very difficult for Luffy to end up getting married in a fancy suit and stuff, he would probably just throw a huge party and invite the friends he made during his adventures. (´・ω・')
It's a silly one-shot, but I really enjoyed it.
