So, what is roleplaying?
Well, it's masking yourself as a character and doing things online as said character. Usually, Anime fandoms are the ones with RP~
You can either use a character or maybe make up your own!
Okay, so let's talk about roleplay blogs~ It's not much about rant but it's about how to improve Roleplaying! Surely you've come across roleplayers in the past~
Roleplaying is like writing a story, however, you're two people or more collaborating and using your characters as the only characters in the story. The outcome is unpredictable and the RP can last for so long, it hurts.
Remember! If you are roleplaying, you are only allowed to control your character and that the scenery should not circulate around YOUR character only! This is an interaction between your character and the other's! Please do not write the other character and dictate what they are going to do because that either makes you look controlling and the freedom for the other person to choose is limited thanks to you, or it makes you look like an asshole.
Roleplays tend to go with the flow and, sure, may have some planning for the beginning, but the ending usually spirals into different and unexpected stems! Please remember that!
Ok, so first, there's three types of Roleplay threads.
1st type: Verbal
[Actions enclosed in Brackets and are usually in phrases. Tends to be more casual and the least detailed. Opens door and exits from it with a heavy heart.]"Dialogue is usually one liners, but tends to be situational. You fucking bastard; how could you?!"
Icons are usually used on these types of RP.
2nd Type:
Description is in full sentences, but kept limited to actions. Some sentences however do give some sort of deets about the situation, but kept to a minimal at times~
Kami frowned uncomfortably, her fingers brushed against the jar of pulverized Malachite as it shimmered dimly.
"Dialogue is kept longer" and is detailed with more emotion and tone! This type's always my favorite to work with~
"Malachite..." She whispered as she pulled her hand away from the glass. "Don't touch that."
Icons are also used with this type, but not a lot of RPers I've personally met do so, I mean, I do personally!
And the 3rd type.
This type is the longest and takes more thought into it. This is great for people who are very descriptive and enjoy using deep words and complicated details to illustrate a scene. This is a mix of scenery, action and dialogue. It also makes use of more than one paragraph and tends to take the longest to construct!
Scenery is used as an element and informs the reader about the situation. (I just cropped some from a thread of mine 'cause I'm too lazy to make a whole new one)
She grasped the wooden handle of the cupboard and pulled it open slowly, making sure not to accidentally drop any jars. She knew what type of tea Ally needed to calm her violent coughing. She pushed passed all the dusty jars, searching for the ingredient she needed the most; cinnamon.
"Shit." Nothing.
She ran a hand down the windowpanes, making gentle marks in her wake. The soft pitter-patter of the rain rang in her ears.
"Ally, I'm going to get something." Kami grabbed the umbrella standing idly beside the refrigerator and bid the other goodbye. She ran towards the oak door, twisted the knob and greeted the gentle drops of rain with a small sneeze. She opened the umbrella and made her way outside before locking the door behind her. " "I'll make it quick. I promise." And with that, she was on her way.
No one was gonna read that so haha.
Also, This type is best without icons!
----
Okay, let's talk about icons!Icons are like small pictures, usually just headshots of the character. They can be used to portray emotions and are best to use when answering asks and doing character reaction memes!
Some roleplayers though, then to keep a no-icon policy and you're just gonna have to succumb to that if you want to roleplay a thread with them!
However, it's great to keep a handful with you!
I have a friend of mine that not only uses icons from a specific character, but uses icons from multiple different characters from different fandoms that look alike to their character when their bodies are trimmed out of the picture! That's always helpful to use!

Lastly, the terms OOC, OC, IC, Mun, Muse, Multi-ship, AU, starters, NSFW and M!AMun is the person behind the character. The creator and the real life person who is roleplaying!
Hello and this is the mun speaking, reminding you all that this blog is open for starters!
Muse is the character you're roleplaying as.Muse Info:
Age: 20
Name: Kami Honda (Honda Kami)
Personification of Japan.OOC means out of character. Like Mun posts. Some roleplayers such as myself replace the word 'character' with something associated with our muse.
Out of Blossom: Off to bed!
OC or Original Character is self-explanatory.
OC-friendly RP blog! Will roleplay with OCs!
Multi-ship means this character is placed in more than one relationship with different muses!
AU or Alternate Universe means that the thread is outside of the canon.
AU where my muse is a cat and your muse is a dog.
Starters are the starting point of the roleplay. Open starters mean anyone can respond to them. They set the theme and atmosphere of the thread. (Can be either of the three styles I covered!)
Tip is that starters should stretch to all kinds of response and aren't too linear and can be interpreted in multiple ways unless you specifically want a certain rp.
Non-linear Starter
"Now what?"
Linear starter
"Now what? We're stuck in an island and we're going to starve to death."
NSFW or Not Safe For Work is usually incorporated with sex threads. Muns not of age tend to be NSFW proof roleplayers. Like me for example!
Im not typing an example here 'cause Haha.
THOUGH I KNOW A LOT OF NSFW RP BLOGS SO HAHA
M!A or Magical Anon is a term used when someone requests a certain circumstance or addition to be put on your muse for a specific amount of time.
Evanesco M!A where everything your muse touches gets relocated to somewhere they least expect for 8 hours.
Or
Muse grows cat ears for 8 Days M!A!
