25 - Forever and Always

Sorry for the late update. Hope I'm forgiven 🤗.

Daniel's POV
I woke up the next morning; my head was banging seriously. I was having a serious migraine. I stood up from my bed slowly. It was all messed up. I was trying to remember what happened last night but I couldn't seem to recall anything.

Did I take something???.

Someone came into my room but how???; And who???. I looked at myself; I was only in my underwear and the rest of my clothes were on the ground. How did that happen??. I was confused. Something was definitely wrong. Something happened here last night but what??.
The last thing I remembered was that I was on the phone with someone; Damilola!.
I hurried to search for my phone around and found it on my desk. It was switched off; how come?.
I turned it on and then found about seven missed calls on the phone. It was Damilola. And there was also a text message from an unknown number; strange.

‘Good morning my darling, I'm sure you're awake by now. I just wanted to say thank you for last night. It was the best night of my life. I know you're obviously confused but I assure you that nothing went wrong so no need to worry for now. I'll send over a gift for you later to show my appreciation. Always love you ❤️.’

"Who could this be?"Daniel thought. He had a meeting that morning so he was going to deal with this issue later  but he had to call Damilola first.

"Oh my....Daniel are you okay?" Damilola exclaimed as soon as she picked the call.
"Kind of, I'm sorry for last night"I apologized even if I had no idea of what happened.
"Something is wrong Daniel, whatever it is tell me, I know you too  well"Damilola replied,
"I'm confused right now, I'll explain everything when I get back later today"I said,
"Okay my love, I can't wait to see you"Damilola muttered,
"You too love, I'll call you back later, okay?"Daniel said,
"Sure, love you"Damilola murmured,
"Love you too"I replied as we cut the phone.

I freshened up and tidied up my room before I was served breakfast then left for my final meeting.

Damilola's POV
I was relaxed a little knowing that Daniel was fine. I couldn't wait to see him. I've missed him a lot though I had had the company of Clinton. Like the day before yesterday when I had my breakdowns again.
Things kind of got heated up and he kissed me; and I gave in aware of the fact that what I was doing was wrong. I felt so vulnerable at that moment; anything could have possibly happened but it was just the kiss.
Clinton didn't take it further instead he put me to sleep and stayed beside me till morning. The next day, he took me out to free my mind and then he left. He was such a darling and every single time he was always there for me; I know I was asked to stay away from him but it wasn't that simple. Even if I wanted to stay away, he couldn't leave me. He accepted the fact that I was married and couldn't be his any longer but even at that he still wanted to be there for me at any time. He would surely not do anything to hurt my feelings. Being with him though reminded me of all the times we had spent together. It made me hurt inside knowing I had betrayed him marrying someone else but I was in love with Daniel now and Clinton.....it was complicated.

Daniel had called me that he had landed and he was on his way to the house. I had prepared dinner all by myself though it took me a long time to persuade Peter to let me. I prepared the table and waited for him.

Daniel's POV
As soon as I entered in the house, Damilola rushed to hug me. We cuddled each other real tight and then a quick kiss.
"It's so good to see you"Damilola said,
"And you too love"I muttered as I kissed her one more time a little bit slower.
"I want to hear all about your trip"Damilola whispered into my ear as I let her go.
"Let me freshen up, I'll be back"I told her then went upstairs.
I laid on the bed; it was so good to be back home. I had a quick bath then went downstairs. Damilola was already at the table.

"I made your favourite"Damilola said,
"How did you know?"
"I'm your wife remember......but it was a guess work though"
"A good one"
"You're not eating?, Why?"
"I don't really have any appetite right now, I prepared the food for you"
"No way, you're eating, come over here"I said to Damilola. She obliged without complain. I made her sit on my lap.
"We're both eating, appetite or no appetite"I pointed out.
"I'm not hungry, like I said it's for you not for me"
"Both of us"I corrected her,
"I'm not hungry, it's strictly yours"Damilola repeated,
"Fine, if you're not eating, I'm not too"I answered,
"After all my stress?, Okay then"Damilola exclaimed with rising anger in her voice as she stood up from my laps and was about to walk away.
"Wait, I was just kidding"I blurted out quickly as I held her back.
"Come on, I know how much work you put into this, I'm sorry"I added then lifted up her chin for her to look straight up at me. She actually looked cute when angry.
She didn't react for about a minute. She then smiled and then,
"I'm not angry, just kidding"She laughed. I just laughed it off without saying anything.

We later sat down to have the dinner. I made Damilola sit on my lap while I fed her and myself. I made sure no one said anything till we finished eating. After we had dinner, I carried her to the living room chair where we both sat but she was still sitting on my laps facing me.

"Now I want to hear how your trip went"Damilola started,
"Like I told you, it was stressful a bit, meetings, meetings, meetings, contracts, so on and so forth"I told her.
"There's something I want to tell you"I added and that made Damilola flinch a little.
"I'm all ears"She muttered excited to hear what I had to say.

I wanted to tell her about Beatrice; to confess everything that had been going on between us. I had this feeling of guilt and betrayal. I didn't know she was going to take it. I just wanted to tell her in case of anything and I would definitely not want anything to jeopardize my relationship with her; damnit.

"I just want to tell you that I love you so much and no matter what I will always love you, forever and always"I said to her instead.
Damilola stared at me for a minute then she smiled; such angelic smile.
"I love you too Daniel, forever and always"She replied like she was expecting me to say something else.

I was going to tell her sooner or later. I wanted to also tell her about the weird occurrence last night but that could wait till tomorrow.
Damilola already moved closer to me as she kissed me. She took it slowly and passionately. Her hand went to the back of my head stroking my hair. I kissed her back taking the kiss more deeply then carried her up into the room.

*Daniel wanted to talk about Beatrice but didn't have the courage to, too bad😪.
